Oil pan upgrade worth it?

Hi everyone,

Seems that my 08 Bullitt might be developing an oil leak from the oil pan.

I'm debating between an upgraded unit like the Canton pan or a replacement pan from Mishimoto.

How bad is the stock oil pan from your experience?

My car spends track time about once a month.
It is not a dedicated track car but I do know that bigger is better when it comes to oil.AM2_6987.jpg

Worth it??? If dropping $500.00 for parts and a few hours labor to possibly prevent your motor from oil starvation damage is worth it for you, yes.
If you want to increase protection add a accusump to your shopping list.

Firstly, it is not "just $500 and a few hours" for me as I live in Israel which has a monsterous taxing policy and my question is if it is worth it for my specific uses or in other words, how good is the oem pan from people who raced with it.

I would try to find a pan from Ford Performance, you may also need a new pickup, and while you're in there, a new oil pump.
It's kind of hard to just do one item, because they are all interwoven.
Make sure that the leak is coming from the pan, and not the front seal.
The Accusump idea is a good one, I personally watched one of our Boss 302s cut an oil line in the bus stop at Daytona, dump it's oil, but the Accusump saved the day until the driver could shut off the engine.
That being said, there is a multitude of mustangs running in the SCCA production classes that have to use a stock pan, so a change may not even be necessary.
I didn't know there were any road courses in Israel.
Good to meet you, stay safe, I'm a big fan of the IDF.

Thank you sir!! And yes the IDF is doing a great job at the moment. Praying for the fast return of the remaining hostages.

This seems to be the best bang-for-buck option now, as it has the pan and pickup, upgraded (stock 2020 GT500) pump, windage tray / pan gasket, and hardware. It does include the note "2011-2014 Mustang cross member will require slight modification for clearance."

OP has a 2008, so it is a 4.6L not a Coyote.
