Is it necessary to turn off the air conditioner on the track? I thought more serious people ran with the AC removed to reduce weight, and perhaps even a little bit of more horse power by not having to power the AC, but since neither of those are relevant at my level (non-competition trackdays)...
Steeda.eu is so overpriced that you are in most cases better of ordering it yourself from the USA. Price of wheels from steeda.eu are about twice the cost of the same wheels from the USA, and they don't carry the wheels in stock even. Better to order directly from APEX. APEX have some local...
Thank you, that's a bit of a relief to hear. I'll be doing my usual swap of brake pads now (the stock OEM DS2500 for the DS1.11) and will try to test and see if I can get the ABS to engage also.
I flushed the brake fluid on my car (18 month old GT 5.0 with stock PP1 Brembos on the front and OEM fluid in it still) yesterday before my trackday on Sunday, and now I'm worried I messed it up.I filled a power bleeder (similar in design to the one from Motive, but one available more locally)...
Yes, they drop, but I thought that was how the no lift shift logic was supposed to work. Ford Racing confirmed to you that the revs are not supposed to drop? So if you shift up from second gear at 7,000, the ecu will be holding it at 7,000 when you engage third gear? I can see how you would...
Ai, that sounds pretty bad and dangerous. The new mach1 has a no lift shift, which seems to be working good in at least one on-track video review, so wondering if Ford has managed to improve it then and the changes will trickle down to the Mustang GT tunes:
Hey, what's not working well with the no lift shifting from Ford? I'm always getting a bit jealous when I hear the local champion racer's auto 911 GT 3 do those amazingly fast shifts, so no lift shifting sounds like a fun thing to try. :-)
Sorry, no. Perhaps somebody who knows will respond, but for 19x11 I believe spacers are required.
For 10.5, I'm not sure. I just know 19x11 works for many and is frequently recommended, so planned on checking out exactly what size spacers I need once I had a set of wheels ordered. I already...
If he passes on them and you're interested in packing them up for shipping to Europe, let me know your price please. Anyone else too.Was mainly looking for SVE wheels since they would be cheaper, but if a cheap-ish set of APEX wheels became available ... not picky about cosmetic defects as...
Thank you. I got in those laps because I don't push myself to much I think, and always have a cool down lap after a streneous lap. With Chris, friend of the GT350 guy, in the passenger seat, I was pushing myself though, so I could manage two or three laps of that before I had to take a break...
I know what you mean, though perhaps it also depends on how the coach matches one's own personality. This friend of the GT350 owner (and also the track owner who coached me before my first trackday, as he didn't want anyone completely new to drive there), both had what I'll describe as...
I had a trackday at different track last weekend. It was the best trackday so far for me. This track is quite different from the track I've been at before, and I now understand what people meant about the previous track not being optimal for a "big and heavy" car like mine. This track is...
Been at three tracks here now, and all indicate with blue traffic lights, or guys waving blue flags, that there is a faster car approaching and you should let him pass. An European thing perhaps?Still waiting for that light to flash blue when I'm approaching. Thought it happened once or...
Championship Tire Specialist? Or to steal from honeybadger: Pit Crew Tire Specialist? Racing Crew Tire Specialist?
All of these are a bit long though."Specialist" sounds nice IMO, and not as over-used as other terms, so I'd try to keep that. Also perhaps move "PWC Team ..." a tiny bit to...
