Back at MSRH for Chin Track days event. Got a fellow with a new GT500 to bring his car out for his first track day at MSRH and second track day ever.He had a blast and was able to go from running 1:59 to 1:47 by the end of the day!Unfortunately my go pro recording skills were not great and I...
Track insurance and you should be good to go.Like others have said watch the fuel gauge, a fellow I track with is using almost a full tank in a 20 minute session in his GT500 on the local 2.38 mile course. Doubt the 500 can make a full 30 minute session at Sebring without running dry.Have fun!
Back at MSR Houston for the S550 club track day. Around 20 or so S550s showed up and a few miscellaneous camaros, corvettes, and subarus showed up as well. Was able to run my old re71rs that have about 10- 30 minute sessions on them.First lap times in the dry. Put down a whole string of 2:02...
Yes I am a MCA member. I like the mustang times magazine and seeing everyone's mustangs from all over in there. Have a few pictures of mine from various mustang events from all over the country. As far as MCA and tracking, yes there are very few who track regularly. Some people with plastic...
Great thread.Still running my stock 01 Bullitt all over the country to different tracks and loving every minute of it. 32 year old HPDE driver just trying to have fun.Have seen my buddies dump 20 grand into their 40 grand street car and only turn in lap times as fast as, or 2 seconds faster...
Good point about fire hazard Blacksheep.Several groups that run HPDE at the local track, MSR Houston, have banned tesla's from participating because of the fire risk. From what I understand the batteries take a special type of extinguisher to put out and can burn for 4+ hours at very high...
Have run 245s (stock size/ stock camber)on the Bullitt for a few years.BFG Comp 2 a/s- good for driving the car to the track in the rain/ running in the rain. Outside edge will chunk quickly if overheats.Re71r's- Good for driving to the track/ running in mild weather- no standing water...
Last track day of the year this past Sunday. Turned out to be pouring rain and 2 foot deep water/ mud off track. Still went and had fun despite the conditions. Was also my first time in 30+ HPDE days of running a lap time, finally bought a phone capable of running track addict. Now I have...
Watched about 20 hours of video so had the layout, corner speeds, and some reference points down.
Started testing the 90 degree 40mph corners on the second or third lap.
Started pushing braking zones the second session.
Threw in 100% acceptable risk and pace trying to chase down the Camaro the...
Finally made it out to Circuit of the Americas with the Bullitt. Went out with Edge Addicts for their intro to performance driving class. This was the cheapest I could find for COTA track time, $295 for 2- 30 minute sessions with instructor.Great opportunity to run COTA at speed and see what...
Well darn sorry that I missed you! Glad to hear the GT350 ran well.Yea when I was studying video I saw this one and that's what helped my decision to sign up in the novice group, way too many people in intermediate. Novice was great, just had to pass a few slow drivers to get in the open.
Went on a 2500+ mile road trip to Autobahn Country Club and Road America last week. Loaded up the Bullitt with the full kit and headed north Saturday July 11th. Also replaced my brake lines with SS and put new rotors/ pads on.Had a blast with LAPS track days at ABCC full 3.56 mile course on...
