I looked at that package, too. I decided to run Flow One Race Spec F2 in Gloss Black ET52. I'll buy Ford Hubs - HUB395 - that have extended studs and 25mm spacers. This solution is more cost effective for me than the APEX package as the wheels are on sale for $225 on close out at Tire Rack. I'll...
The wrap will help however, even when temps were in the 70s here in metro Chicago my cooler kicked in at around 165 - 170.BTW the track package GT-350s come with both diff and trans coolers.Ford is facing a class action lawsuit from GT-350 owners over this issue as the cars are essentially...
While your experience is what it is, I don’t agree with your approach or advice to the OP. I would not run the stock pads at the track. We can agree to disagree on this one.You can get enough heat into the track pads. And the pads I run are not “full on race pads.” As I’ve said YMMVCheers!!
In my experience stock pads are no match for track duty and their use there should be avoided. They'll fade and definitely won't stand up to the abuse. A pad with a track oriented compound that can withstand the elevated temperature generated during lapping sessions is a much much better choice...
I run G-Loc with no issues. Their 12 compound up front and their 10 on the rears. You could give them a call to see what they recommend. Ask for Danny, the owner. As others have said, the Hawk HP+ is not a good choice for the track.I also run G-Loc’s Street/Autocross compound square on the...
Thanks Bill. Yes, I deal with Luke at TR and he and I have had a number of conversations about tires, alignment settings, etc. He's been very helpful and has a lot of insight.I know Luke personally as he's been the host at a number of autocross I've run at their facility in South Bend with is...
Thank you for this. Others have said it's necessary to modify the strut towers in order to get anything over -2.5. Did you find it necessary to do that in order to achieve these settings up front?
You may want to consider a rear diff cooler as the fluid gets very hot even in everyday driving without a cooler on my car I've seen nearly 200F it's best to run 155F to 175F. The diff fluid cooler from Full Tilt Boogie Racing helps achieve this. When I ran the car at RA rear diff temps never...
Thanks Bill. The Evo there belongs to the mechanic I’ve used to install most of my mods. He does good work at a reasonable price. Perfect Soundz here in Libertyville. Thanks for th advice about tires. I deal with Luke at Tire Rack. I don’t autocross or track too frequently so I’ll probably...
