I hope MCA does another Barber event next year. I'll have to make it there next time since I'm only about 2 hours away. It's nice to see some fast laps. I ran my first track day at Barber a few weeks prior with Chin. This was my fastest lap of the weekend but as I found out, there's a lot more...
I’ll give the pry bar technique a shot. It’s so weird because it sounded like it was coming from behind the engine but I guess the sound resonates weirdly in the engine bay.
I’m already wanting to go back, such an awesome track, haha.
I put the car in sport mode and left it in 4th gear the majority of the time. I was able to get it on the limit of the tire on some of the corner exits and didn’t really notice the assistance of advancetrac if there was any. I’m...
Yes, it can be heard idling. I’ll have to double check with light pressure, but with the clutch fully engaged or disengaged, the noise stayed the same. From what I remember, it didn’t change as the pedal was pressed as well.I should’ve noted, the car has 83k miles as well. Original everything...
Hey guys,Newbie here, I just had my first ever track day at Barber Motorsports Park on March 16-17. I had an amazing time but had a few issues arise on my 2014 Mustang GT that I’m trying to find solutions for. After wrapping up the first day and driving to the hotel, the traction control and...
My stock brembo pads dust pretty good up front (granted I have nothing to compare it to lol) but I don't think I'd mind that too much. I'm down in Alabama so maybe I could pull off running them year round. I'll have to give Tim a call, I've been browsing his website for ARP studs, my OEM stuff...
Are the G-Loc R6 pads fairly street-friendly? I’m looking to do a brake upgrade soon on my car but it is a daily. I’m fine with some dust but don’t want to have a ton of squealing or anything.
I've also been looking looking around for suspension options on a budget so I'm in a similar situation. I think I'm probably going to end up going with the Vorshlag StreetPro kit, I just can't decide on the springs yet. Their camber plates look top notch and the shortened strut housing for...
Another update post!I ended up buying some shortened rear bump stops from Maximum Motorsports to replace my old stock ones. With the moderate drop of my Steeda Springs it really didn't make much difference in street driving but it definitely did when taking it to the limit on the next few...
Thanks. I did feel less rushed driving this course surprisingly. I think I probably rush myself sometimes trying to extract every last tenth of a second possible and that clearly just doesn't work in some areas. I feel like the new tires being so responsive compared to my old ones also made it...
Appreciate it! I'm glad to hear that about the open end lugs being fine on the street. I am definitely going to have to look at getting the ARP studs in the near future. I actually had one of my stock rear studs snap off when I was trying to put on my new wheels (my dealership cross-threaded a...
Totally agree. I had several other wheels in mind but I kept coming back to the apex ones. They’re hard to beat for the price and I am very happy with them even though I swore I wouldn’t do black haha
Another update post:Finally bit the bullet and bought some 19x10 Apex EC7 wheels in Satin Black during their tax season sale. I know some may be disappointed but I went with the relatively narrow 275/35/19 RT660s for tires. They look great and no regrets so far. I am still learning so the...
I think I would need to grind the shoulder right when the threads start to get it to go in. The factory one goes in fine without any clearance issue with the ring. I’m surprised more people haven’t had the issue, I couldn’t find anything online.
