The wire clips are quick attach. Preinstall the clips, press the line in until it snaps. done!
I tried installing the hose then the clips in the beginning of the first time, then figured out they are quick-tach.
I had to replace my throw out bearing for the second time and remembered how hard it was to bleed it from the first time. This time I decided to "pre bleed" it.
I used a beaker with brake fluid in it, stuck the pipe fitting in it, pumped the TOB until all the air bubbles stopped. Installed it in...
I got a J&M Racing SS form fit Clutch line for my 2015 GT. It looks and fits great. It follows right down the middle of the open gap between the fire wall and the bell housing. I never cared for the universal SS hose solution.
I have got to use it yet, it's still the forever winter here in MN...
Speaking of Camaros. I was reeling this one in and all of the sudden he put up a smoke screen. He got stopped before the swamp, so that was good. I talked to him back in the pits. He was having trouble with his ABS. He ran with it off the rest of the day and was apparently fine.
I just happen to get a 4th gear lockout on my personal best lap at BlackHawk Farms this past summer. Which means the lap could have been better! :) I didn't gather the shift and myself back quick enough and missed the apex of the next corner. Start watching at second 45.
I asked a couple of repair shops, there response was "that's a dying art". I called a Mustang Performance shop I've had worked done at and they knew where to go.
It was a teardown and reassemble only, no new parts and install of Carbon Fiber Synchros.
I paid about $375 for the synchros, so getting close to a $1,000 total.
I checked the flatness six ways to Sunday with several straight edges I could find in my shop. I concluded that my dial gauge set is apparently a bit wonky. I haven't figured out why yet.
But when I use straight edges and my thin set of feeler gauges I come up with a taper of .006" on the old PP...
Before. I just got my trans back this Wed.
These are the parts for starting over. I'm going with the Motorcraft TOB, Centerforce clutch again, specific length clutch line like the Motorsport version but made by JM Racing, one piece drive shaft and carbon fiber synchros.
Hope all should be good...
I'm planning to head to Barber for the Mustang 60th anniversary in April 2024 with the Mustang Club of America. They are planning a National car show in the area and a trackday event at Barber. Should be a big turnout of Mustangs for the 60th!
I decided to get the transmission rebuild by a local large transmission and drive line company.
They said it looks really good inside, just two of they synchros were bad. I got the Carbon Fiber Synchros and they installed them.
And it looks better than new (no funky paint to scratch up), dyno...
That's funny, this could turn into a fun stories thread. :)
I have had clutch issues every since I did a 2 to 1 shift at 6800 rpm and ripped the back disk off. Replaced it, but didn't replace the TOB, which turned out to be damaged, replaced it, now 6th synchro went out, found odds things with...
I wanted to ask the person that commented something similar to the title in a thread what he meant by that.
I had a rumbling feel in my clutch pedal that showed up when I installed the Centerforce TOB. I associated it to the TOB. Does the pedal start to rumble when the clutch is getting wore?
