So I’m now without a sports car, sold my 2006 GT last summer. Thought was hopefully sell it when the market is high should come down summer 2022... well I was wrong on that one.
Since then I’ve decided to move in 1-2yrs so major car purchases are off the table for 2-3 years (Mach 1 probably)...
Well a little update. Ford dealer got back to me, and it seems like Canada won't be getting the handling package, and wow its not cheap. So even without that option (which is 3500 USD I believe) the car is 75k(CAD) MSRP. That would put it north of 80K with taxes. So not worth it IMO. Hell its...
DAT ASS, thats selling it for me.I think I will go the Mach 1 route. Make the mundane drives to work with either sharing a car, or cheap car for now. Then eventually truck and probably a track beater Miata for fun. The Mach will be for big tracks but not pushing too hard and lots of cursing...
Interesting idea.I like the Mach as it’s a gt350 light. (Reliable 5.0 motor, tremec tranny, all the coolers) I just wonder how “limited” they will be, will they sit on lots or will they go quickly, and become the next Boss 302 in 10 yearsGt500 is a solid nope as it’s auto. GT350 scare me...
Ha,those were some nice cold RE-71's and a not so securely placed foot on a brake pedal after moving around so much due to those oh so comfy leather recliner style OEM seats. Thanks for the responses.
Hello everyone,Hopefully this post isn't as chaotic as my brain. But I am trying to decide on what to do with respect to the vehicles I own/will own. Cant decide on what's the best option. This forum seems to have people who have a lot of track experience with their own cars and racing. I...
Well very late update.I drove the 150 kms to the race no problem, including the massive rainstorm on the way back. In addition to that this was the first event with some "sticky" tires and I shocked a lot of people on how fast a mustang can be.Now i just need to eventually get rid of the...
Hello,This may be a stupid question so sorry in advance. I have looked around the interwebs and seems I can not get a straight answer regarding how to treat RE-71r's. Some say treat them just like an true R-compound and be careful of how many heat cycles, other say it's still a 200TW street...
Yes I have the 18x10's right now, however those will most likely be replaced with 18x11 or 19x11 in the future. Those were me trying to get into R-Compounds with the smallest cost barrier.I for sure am going to need more rubber in the future. Where I am the car classes are not normal (have...
Ha, thats what I was thinking. DAMM 375 thats a big boy tire. I started looking around and have seem to have found a good price on Toyo RR @ 295. (half the price of A7's)Anyone have thoughts on cheaper racing seat? (steel frame vs fibreglass) They will be FIA certified. I feel a little more...
Ha, you mean my night of collecting moose whiz was for not. DANG.Thank you very much everyone. So I will most likely then look into a v6 rear sway bar. A7's (if I can budget the cost vs life span, if not RE-71 for now probably, 295 or 285 square) and then when the time comes, aluminum flywheel...
Hello everyone,I am looking for some help with the next set of mods to my 3v and I feel using this brain trust would be the best place. The local Auto-X here is pretty small, they use their own class system and I essentially can do what ever I want. Unfortunately the events are mostly in...
While that is true, this series allows me to drive around and semi warm up the tires prior to running. but for the price, it saves me ruining my street tires for a year until I get auto-x tires. great transition step.
i will post it in here if anyone else may know the answer, would this fit an 18x10 SVE Drift wheel for autocross on a 06 GT without coilovers. ( Lowering springs and Koni shocks)Thanks everyone, just learning.
