    Fuel starvation solutions

I wonder if he had an aftermarket set up, since while the S197 GT500 has two fuel pumps, my understanding is that they're both in the same driver-side hanger. The S197 fuel tank does have an opening and hat on the passenger side, but it's just a fuel level sending unit (so it can get levels...

Gen2 Engine Rebuild Needed or not?

Wow, that kit really exploded in price for some reason. Maybe because it was a short-run part for the few years of the S550 GT500? I still have that kit in my stash from when I ordered it back in Fall of 2020... $699.95 on the receipt from Summit (which I thought was a heck of a deal considering...

Gen2 Engine Rebuild Needed or not?

If you're just replacing the rods & rod bearings, the crankshaft doesn't need to come out provided it has no damage. Getting a new shortblock may be a viable answer, but just wanted to give clarity to both options. It appears that the OEM Gen 3 shortblock is JR3Z-6009-A, MSRP is $3,578.57 with a...

Gen2 Engine Rebuild Needed or not?

With the higher compression from the other cylinder and the oil in the suspect cylinder he could be right that the rings are pinched. One thing to keep in mind is trying to diagnose the cause, should it just happen again after new parts go in.If you want to price out what an OEM replacement...

Gen2 Engine Rebuild Needed or not?

So here's my train of thought: A flashing CEL occurs when a misfire is occurring that is severe enough to cause damage to the catalytic converters. You should never continue to drive with a flashing CEL if there isn't a trophy on the line. The first thing I'd check would be the ignition system...

New Ford Performance 5.0L/5.2L GT500 Aluminum Oil Pan and Pump Kit

The M-6675-M52S kit comes with a brand new one, which is the same BR3Z-6710-A part number that was used in the GT and Boss 5.0 S197s (later used on the Coyote S550s until they went to the plastic oil pan and brought back for use with the S550 GT500). So if you have a customized oil-scraper type...

Time for a Paul Harvey Moment so you know the rest of the Story!!

I'm probably one of the younger members of the board at 32 (and a Millennial), but I'd be happy to bequeath that position if anyone else wants to throw their hat in the ring. It is disheartening after working so hard to see crude generalizations condemning an entire generation due a lack of...

Got new GT500 aluminum valve covers for my Gen 1 2012 GT.. What else do i need?

Without any customization of either part (out-of-the-box fit), I'm pretty sure the raised bosses on top of the prototype part will keep the coil cover from sitting down. Here's a picture of a production one and it's smooth within the shallow recess for the coil cover in addition to having the...

Got new GT500 aluminum valve covers for my Gen 1 2012 GT.. What else do i need?

Very cool to have a prototype part, just a shame you can't run the Boss blue coil covers. I was also looking forward to seeing how those looked on top of the aluminum valve covers.

Got new GT500 aluminum valve covers for my Gen 1 2012 GT.. What else do i need?

If they handed you the M-6067-M52S box as it ships, it has the gaskets already installed with the necessary hardware included. When I asked them previously, the FRPP hotline said the stock dipstick should work with FR3Z-6754-B (I asked because I was planning to use the matching GT500 oil pan...

Rear end gear ratios - anyone have a calculator spread sheet for looking at speeds?

https://legacypic.uk/transmission/graph.php? You can open the link up in a few tabs if you want to compare different gears simultaneously.

This brake kit seems like a no brainer, right?

The 'dust shields' SVE include are designed to have the same purpose as the OEM GT500 'dust shields' - just a small flap of sheet metal to protect the rubber tie rod boot from brake heat. You can see them at the bottom-left of the product picture collage. I think it would be beneficial to retain...

    S550 Which spring length?

Says right on their website that it has adjustable positions for ride height, so the response from them seems strange.

    S550 Which spring length?

Not sure that it will solve your problem entirely, but you're running the shock top mounts in the shortest of the two available positions which looks to give you a ride height of at least 1" less from the picture.
