I ended up removing the C Pillar decals. It was just too much with the stripes in my opinion. May add them back if I ever remove the stripes. Snapped some better pics
Looks like I got a lot of tires to try! I'll likely be making the switch from 3Rs to R7s for a track event in June at VIR. But as for time trials, I'll be looking at everything suggested in here so far. Appreciate the feeback so far everyone.Because of the much easier entry requirements, I'm...
All of those tires give you the same 'mod factor' according to NASA. I figured they're all very very close to each other in terms of grip🤷♂️ . I'm a big fan of the 3Rs, actually haven't tried the regular 3's yet.
Thank you for the info and insight @flyhalf and @steveespo!As for what tires and what weight...I haven't had the car weighed yet, but I'm about 185lbs myself, so I think 3950 with me in it is a good guess. Messing with the calculator, it looks like I'd probably be stuck with 200tw tire or so...
I've searched for and seen a few threads on Time Trials already, but hoping to get some input & advice on Time Trials while considering my specific car and experience. My car: 2018 GT350. Stock powertrain, stock suspension, GT4 aero, Verus Engineering wing, Watson roll bar. Car profile here...
Too funny! Yours looks great! Good job matching some of the decal colors to the stripes. It goes together better than mine.I considered white+blue instead of gray+blue for my decals, but I thought it would be way too 'loud' in my particular case. The white stripes are already super bright on...
Here are some (very poor) edits of some directions I might go:1) keep stripes but remove the C pillar decals. This makes the decals clash less with the stripes2) remove the stripes. I like this the most, but…the majority of the stripes are buried under Xpel PPF. I really don’t feel like...
Thank you! I thought about doing that - and may do so eventually. Good to know that Bemaro and Big Worm make the stripes! I'm familiar with both of them.I still haven't ruled out the APR cover...That was an excellent idea with the inflatable bag! I wish I thought of that.
Getting ready for the Verus Engineering wing. I gave up looking for a trunk with no holes. They’re few and far between. Plus I’d likely have to get it painted. And it wouldn’t have stripes. So I decided to just go with the factory trunk for now. Maybe a carbon fiber trunk in the future...
I got the support pedestals installed. McMaster Carr didn’t have ones already threaded in the size I needed, so I had to tap them. But it worked out great.I eyeballed up the driver side after looking at tons of photos of GT4 cars, and once it looked good enough for me I drilled the dive plane...
Glad to hear! Mine is getting delivered this week. Thanks!Wow I didn’t realize Archetype products had some failures like that! That’s unfortunate, some of their stuff is very expensive too.And yep - I’ve heard great things about AJ’s products. May try them out one day, but going for the...
@mavisky I just came across a build thread of a car that has the Verus Engineering wing and realized it was you. I just ordered that wing. How do you like it?
