The GT500 trans is a TR6060 which is similar to a T56 but not identical. I had the T56 Magnum in my Bullitt so I have some experience with the transmission. I'm not just pulling opinions out of my butt.
The resonating vibration I can feel in the shifter while cruising is probably coming from inside the transmission IMO. The MGW shifter and Blowfish bracket are very nice pieces but in the end they are just band aids for a crappy gearbox. If I ever develop enough love for this car that I want to...
Too late now, you already polished the rings before they were able to seat properly. Long periods of idling or easy driving is the worst thing in the world for breaking in a new engine. The rings need to cut into the cylinder walls and wear to fit. This takes pressure, and you're not going to...
Mileage on it? You say the harness is missing and also a 'box'? What box are you talking about? Also, where is it located? Lots of important details missing here.Do you have the shifter handle and all the hardware?I had a T56 Magnum on my Bullitt but sold it in the part out. Not at all...
I made sure to drive the crap out of mine during break in. It burned a quart in the first thousand miles but then oil consumption slowed down. I waited until 4000 miles to change the oil the first time because I wanted to make sure the rings were fully seated before dumping out the break in oil...
^ If your shifter is moving up and down then I'd recommend checking the integrity of your transmission mount. Mine doesn't move at all, but my car only has 4000 miles on it.I just discovered that Steve has another vendor carrying his bracket. Someone on another forum just said that Lethal is...
A littler birdie told me that the new MGW shifter being developed for the 2015 Mustang will also be designed to retrofit the 2011-2014 Mustangs. It will replace the entire front strut arm as well as the shifter box.
I have the street bushing in mine but can't see where it could make a whole lot of difference. The stock shifters don't have a bushing at all and those are the ones that seem to have the most issues with vibration and noise. Even the softer MGW bushing is pretty darn stiff so when you combine it...
Where in Orlando? If you're near Altamonte Springs I'll be eating dinner at the Ale House by Altamonte Mall about 6-6:30. I'll be in the GT/CS if you'd like to try out the MGW shifter and BF bracket.
If it's a defective part then MGW is very easy to work with. Give Julie a call and I'm confident she will get your situation resolved. Really good people there.
Actually my shifter is working great and I couldn't ask for anything more. My issue is with the cheap Chinese transmission clunking and clanking with only 4000 miles on the car. When I removed the driveshaft from the trans I could turn the output shaft by hand back and forth about 1/4" and...
I've spoken with George extensively about this and he believes that the harder you make the rear mount the more NVH you will have. I'm using the softer bushing and have no need or desire to switch it to the harder bushing.
Only noise I had was the studs hitting on left turns under throttle. Now that I adjusted it no more noise. At some point I may trim the studs so I can raise the shifter up slightly but it is no longer a priority.
