Well I am now part of the boss 302 club! This car will now be my new fun car! It will be used for autocross, HPDE events, Date nights and nice day commutes to work. I have always been in love with the boss 302's and especially the Comp orange color. My current black car will be put back to stock and everything will make its way over to this car! I feel a little bad as this was a one owner car with only 14,000 miles but I don't like buy others projects so I plan on keeping all the stock parts and not performing any modifications that can't be reversed. This is Car #1422 in Comp orange with the Recaro seat option. I will be posting on here as I swap parts and clean it!

I got a '13 with 19K on it a year and a half ago. I've only added Borla ATAK's, MGW shifter and Steeda BOSS springs arrived last month. Maybe an aluminum driveshaft someday but that is probably all. Good idea with yours not to molest it too much. Some do lots of mods and beat on them others want them pristine. I feel they are rather unique, and somewhat irreplaceable to a point if they are low mileage etc. Sure there are plenty of faster or better handling cars but I love the S197 and the experience of driving the BOSS. I've done 3 track days so far and have a lot of room to cut times but just the chance to drive on track is a thrill for me.

My first Boss was a Comp Orange one and it definitely treated me right ---- enough that of my next 3 fun Fords , 2 were other Boss 302s. Cool story and hope to see you at the Solo Nationals in Lincoln, Ne. some year and continue to keep killing cones.

Wheatie, your next option should be a camber plate , either the M&M one Cone Killer JD has or a Vorshlag one. Getting some negative camber up front will save your tires on track and give you much better turn in.

Well I'm three events in with the boss 302. I struggled the first day with the rear end locking up more aggressively with this car having the Torsen Diff so I had to tone my throttle input down a little. Still managed to place 7th both Pax and Raw time out of 99 drivers. Day Two I felt way more confident! Managed to get 2nd Raw time and 3rd Pax time out of 96 drivers. This was a great first weekend in the car!
The 3rd event that I attended was nothing special but I also ended up placing 9th Pax time out of 65 drivers. This is a much faster group with 12 of those driver being in a Pro class. so I was very pleased with this event!

Enjoy some nice pictures from a Cars and Coffee I attended this past Saturday.

Amazing looking Boss 302. Those wheels are perfect on this car; mind sharing the details on which wheels they are?

Sure! They are the SVE R357's from lmr.com. I'm running 19x11's on all 4 corners in the gun metal gray, with a 20mm spacer up front.
Again they look amazing on your car. And you’ve been running these wheels/setup at track days and no issues with it? Thinking of these SVE R357’s or the Apex EC-7’s and unsure which way to go. Can’t say for sure 100% from just pictures online but the look of the R357’s is slightly different from the EC-7’s too. Looking to maybe log a couple track days a year so wondering about how well these wheels have held up for you so far

I have used both SVE wheels and Apex wheels. In my mind the Apex wheels are a cut above the SVE, finish wise. You pay more for them though. I never had any problems with either brand, but I liked the Apex wheels better.

LMR is a quality company and so is Apex, you can't go wrong either way as both companies have a bunch of trackrats working for them. I have had wheels from both and would not be concerned about either choice. Like JDee the Apex wheels are a bit nicer, but I had good luck with my SVE wheels from LMR --- they hustled the wheels to me years back when I needed them in a hurry and I still remember the quality service.

I just wanted to ask a clarification question; LMR’s website lists the RE357’s in colour called gloss graphite, I assume gunmetal gray is the same colour you referenced?

Yes! I meant the gloss graphite. They also might have changed the color name after I purchased mine.
Awesome thanks, that helps a lot! I also have a competition orange 302 so it helps to have references of colours and wheels when trying to decide on a set against our paint colour. I wanted to just ask you directly via DM and not clutter up your build thread here with my questions but I’m too new to the forum and it wouldn’t let me. Thanks again
