Welcome and glad you found TMO. Super friendly site and folks are always willing to help. There are plenty of old , and I mean really old, members on here that are very willing to offer advice and assistance. If some of them don't answer a question right away remember some of us take naps in the afternoon, ha.

Thank you for the warm welcome Bill! I feel like the old members will have all the secret sauce haha. I appreciate any advice and assistance so when it comes it comes, no rush at all. Happy to be here!

Had a fun day at the track this weekend at Miami Homestead Speedway.

Went out with brakes that did One previous track day ( 3x 25MIN) and a 10 day trip (3000 miles) to Tennessee to drive the dragon and other amazing roads over there. After my second 25 minute session my rear pads where destroyed xD I came back into the pits with 0 pad material just metals plate hugging each other.
I quickly ran to a auto parts store with my friend and bought whatever pads they had in stock, went back switched them out and was able to be back on track for the next session.

After another two session the new pads where once again just metal plates. I will mention that my traction control was on ( the event peeps recommended to keep them on just for safety so I did)
My guess is that the DBA t3 4000 rotors combined with stock brembo pads and cheap autozone pads where not a great combination. The fronts however held up nicely and are in great condition.

Going to get some blanks for the rear for now and see if I can repair the DBA rears. Guess it's time for some track pads as well G - Locs will most likely be next on the list :D

Those rear pads look like a big clue to the instability under braking that you’re reporting in your other thread. 3 of the 4 are down to metal but the 4th appears to have decent material left. I suspect you have a sticking or dragging rear caliper and you aren’t getting even braking forces side to side. Not many better ways to make the car feel unstable.

If you don't completely turn the nannies off* (press brake pedal and hold traction control button 5-10 seconds), at least engage sport mode (press brake, press traction control twice rapidly). Your rear brakes pads will thank you.

*The nannies may turn themselves back on if you get really sideways or generate a lot of lateral g's.

Rule #2 - double tap.

Wouldn't Track Mode loosen up the nannies even further than Sport Mode?

Forgot that the newer cars have that. You whippersnappers and your newfangled ESC/TC tuning.

I haven't driven a car with them, so I don't know how much difference there is between Sport and Track. Google's AI summary says of Track Mode, "Stability control is deeply relaxed, allowing aggressive sliding before stepping in." I'd probably do my first couple track days in Sport while monitoring rear pad wear. Once i got comfortable, move up to Track Mode. After several more track days and confidence in ability to feel and quickly catch a slide, move to full off. And no shame in never moving past a level - each to their own comfort.
