New guy here. Stock 2016 GT. Perf pack with 6 piston Brembos. Stock pads.

My front left rotor has a visible line after my first HPDE event. I can feel the line with my finger but only barely.

Is this a problem that needs addressing? Any idea what caused it?

Edit: direct link to picture if it won't load here:

Not sure of the issue as I can not get your picture of the rotor to come up, but often something like this is caused by a rock or debris getting between the pad and rotor and scarring it in one area of the said rotor. Just a guess since unable to view. It has happened to me a couple of times so just tossing this out.

Thank you. I'm not sure why the picture won't load but here's a direct link below

Rock or debris makes sense. Are my next steps as simple as removing the pad, removing any visible debris, and reinstalling the pad? I assume the rotor will wear back to normal soon enough.

Ive seen this, had this before. If the pedal feels normal, no pulsing, noise or other changes. Nothing to worry about. You got the brakes hot and they appear to have left build up on the rotors. Expect this to wear off with "Normal" driving. You could also remove the wheel and sand the build up off. Best advice, do nothing......except maybe sign up for another track event. :hellyeah:

Almost forgot. Welcome to the site. I see you are from Illinois. Are you near the lake, where people are stacked up and unhappy or closer to where the rivers come together and people are happy??
Thank you. I hoped it was that simple.

I’m about 40 miles west of Chicago and very happy! Are you nearby?

but is it a gash/valley? Or somethign that sticks out like a ridge?
I can barely feel the lip where it starts, but it is so slight that I can't be 100% sure whether it is a valley or outward ridge. I lean toward it being an inward valley.

It is smoother than I expected when I saw it.

Yep, looks good. I dont worry Too much about how the rotor face looks. If there is a pulsation or pull, I’ll pull the brakes apart for a look see. Like was stated before, it’s likely a piece of “Trash” rubbed a line on the rotor. If it was mine, I’d drive it as is.
