I did not take a zillion pics like I have in the past as I found myself watching a bunch of Classes with friends I had not seen for quite a few years - ran into two Conehead Racers I had not seen for 30 years!! Since I joined SCCA in 1981 and started destroying rubber that year, I have been amazed how many ancient pylon pulverizers are still out on the pavement chasing hundredths of a second. Met Mike Snyder and his 2010 S 197 is just a classic old Gulf color combination, and he has a unique removable front end on the beast. Jordan Laskey was running at the same time as my son and I and he introduced himself and his Comp Orange Boss brought back fond memories of my first B302! Really cool decals and nice to see one of our favorite shops ( Capaldi Racing ) was prominently highlighted as that is who helps set up this CAMC sweetheart. Ole Mr. Black , who just had a Birthday a week back, showed up in the David Pearson special and it stood out beautifully among all the little weenie imports in D Street. Fun time for everyone and my apologies for not posting even more pictures as there were many, many other members from the site that were at the huge automotive slalom spectacle -- 1300+ Solo drivers descended upon the pavement of the Lincoln, Nebraska!

Whoops, not sure how that got in there, sorry for the post of an EVO -9 ! Aw, heck, no I am not, as that is a couple of pics of my son who is now a National Champion in SSP !

It is an appropriate picture since he first time driving 100 MPH was in my 97 Mustang Cobra at age 13................I know I have been a terrible father.

Statute of limitations has expired, technically it never happened now. Well that's how i read the law. Note, definitely not a lawyer.
Proud dad moment. :hellyeah:

Man, I thought about it afterwards, we should have organized a TMO group photo. It was great meeting @Bill Pemberton and @Peter92lx in person. Bill, congrats to your son winning SSP.

I managed to come back from 19th after day 1 to 10th on day 2 and snagged my first trophy.

Congats and I should have gotten a picture of the Rinermobile with you and your wife when I stopped to introduce myself. Tenth is a great run in a very difficult Class and I bet next year will see you move up even farther in the trophy spots!

PS - your wife is sure a ton better looking than you, you definitely out punted your coverage, ha!!

I think the Duanemobile surprised quite a few folks and quite a few folks my age ( ancient ) recognized the paint scheme and smiled with approval!

The East Course was the favorite of the two amongst most of the drivers I chatted with.

Great idea as we did a TMO shot years back at the Mustang Roundup ( racemph.com ) as 24 of the Trackrats there were TMO members. We could all gather over at the SPS Trailer since everyone knows where Big DaveW is as he and the Ver Mulms are their mounting tires. Dave and his wife Liz also have a ton of Driver stuff there and my son usually gets his work gloves from them each year.

It's on the scca.com home page! Congratulations to everyone who won, trophied, or just competed in this year's Solo Nationals.

What has happened to ESP? The vultures are circling over it. Meanwhile, 42 cars in Club Spec Mustang is great for a new class. I still think limiting it to 4.6-engined cars limits future growth, as good examples are getting harder to find.

Thanks Dave_W, I posted a different picture, but pretty cool that going to SCCA.com Ryan's car pops up as the vehicle picture used for the Nationals! That is from his runs whereas the picture I took was earlier in the week when he was running on the test site. Nice to win a Championship and then be the poster child for the entire event!!

ESP has not been a muscle car class for a while - few years ago cars got moved around (and ASP/BSP got killed if I remember correctly) and two competitive cars were Type R and BMW that was in there this year (ex-JVs car that Canekeratnes have been running for few years now).

The other ESP car was a local competitor to me that made a trip to Nats for fun with his daughter who got learners permit 3 weeks before Nats being the sole ESPL competitor.

Street Prepared is unfortunately dying ESP and DSP being essentially dead as those Nats have shown.
