I don't know about the laws, but the stock brake pads on the Dark Horse have a higher coefficient of friction than that (the purple line on the chart in the post immediately above this one). (see full post)
Chart below is from Ferodo website for pad friction to temp relationship:Here is Pagid RSL29 chart:No chart from EBC but according to their website they have two version of the Blue stuff pads.
1. Regular blue stuff @ .42 Mu
2. Blue stuff...
Hey guys,Part 12 is now live:Project Budget 400WHP S197 Mustang Track Car: Part 12 - RTR Tactical Performance CoiloversWe installed the RTR Tactical Performance Coilovers on our Budget 400whp Track Car to give us adjustability in ride...
Correct. The stock Kelsey Hays discs are 11.25” x .812”. However, here again big block production cars in the day like station wagons had larger 12” x 1.25” rotors. So we are allowed to run those even on the small block cars.
Couple of short videos from this past weekend…Hallett 50th Anniversary Vintage Festival. Roughly 50 cars…10 in Group 1. We got two races in on Saturday. The rest was essentially a rain out.
Keep in mind the Apex plastic ones can melt on track but it is not unusual for the metal caps to pop out. Some groups will not allow center caps on a road course as one flying off at speed can be quite hazardous.
That is a bit fairer, though lightweight Vettes or Jags getting to run 4 wheel discs seems to be a reason they should let all of you run a 4 wheel set up. What does your Mustang weigh without you in the car? (see full post)

It does look a bit like what can happen if a tire is too large or doesn't have enough camber and it is rubbing up against the edge of a wheel well from tight turns, going over curbing or some kind of compression caused from heavy braking or a... (see full post)
I forgot to create an event, but we’re at the Route 66 Mid-America Hallett event yesterday and today. Most of the usual cars that I have posted before were here so I didn’t take a lot of pics. However, since I think most of guys were or still are...
I thought that was the case but I remembered seeing drum brakes on some of the cars clear back when you guys ran at Topeka and I could not remember if it was all the way around. I imagine they are still pretty damn small discs up front?! (see full post)
Generally speaking, if the parts were available in period, ‘72 SCCA GCA, then we can run them. All small block big bore cars can run front discs but must run rear drums. We can use larger rear drums…for example big block production cars had...

When you have the brakes booster working though ! My next update will be spicy when I get the car back to the track but after installing the new brakes booster there is a night and day difference in how the brakes bite !The RSL29 last time I... (see full post)
Pagid, but yes. Honestly, I think I'd run the stock rear until fade is a genuine issue. The rear is probably bigger than they need to be. The rear pad you just want be low-friction/low-bite/flat mu. The front can get a little more spicy. You...
So to go back a year or two, when the whole darkhorse race series was being created a lot of us told them to go with race grade brakes, a better cooling system andv18inch wheels, of course all that was ignored and it caused so many problems that...
