With weight on the car they fully compress and become a solid spacer when using the very light spring weight ones as shown in the kit from @Rodpwnz Just see the layers of compressed helper spring at the top in the photo below. As we have...

It's a mass production thing, decent coil overs cost north of $5K, they also require a lot of maintenance, I doubt a set would last 15K miles on the street without overhauling, that's why you'll only see them in high dollar applications. The... (see full post)

Sorry to ask, but, if you don't ask . . .Why is the stock system not a coil over but a strut?I mean, there is a coil over the shock absorber or damper system. When I search, "What is a coil over" the answer is pretty much the same thing as...

I always thought that was funny too. "Coilovers" have the ride height adjustment, even though they both have coils over a strut. Here's another one for ya: Isn't the stock exhaust system a, "catback" exhaust? :) Bonus: I bought some aftermarket...

Now that the S650 is out, has anybody experienced this with an S650 car or Dark Horse? (see full post)

Fronts almost zero modulation constant ABS activation on street tires so 16 are too aggressive for street tires. Rears also too aggressive but I was having ABS issues even with R10/R8 then I switched to R12/R8(same rears) and the ABS issues... (see full post)

I wish I had saved the link, but I read somewhere that the Dark Horse with handling package was able to decelerate at 1.4G without the ABS overriding. This (and the tires Ford chose) is why it had the shortest stopping distance of any...

So what was wrong with the Gloc 16/12? That was recommended to me by Tim at OP mustang for my Dark Horse. Over braking the rear?

These are the ~5#/in variety. They take up space so the corner springs don't rattle when you're in the air.

Depends on the spring. There are "zero" rate helpers that do fully compress when the car is on the ground but keep the main spring in position when the car is elevated or if it gets air on track. These do not impact the overall rate. There are...

It is my understanding that the helper springs are nearly always fully compressed unless load is fully removed and/or suspension is fully drooped. Main springs would be prone to falling out without a helper spring to secure it in place.I've...

Yes, I believe it has a threaded perch for ride height, just like a traditional coilover. This is a huge pull for me personally. The primary purpose of the helper spring is to keep the main spring properly seated against the suspension upper or...
