New guy here- just took my PP2 out to Thunderbolt after a 2 year hiatus from the track. Tbolt has had a repave since I last took my 135i on 200tw and 400whp. They say the new pavement is worth 2 seconds, and that is exactly how much quicker...
It is "lead follow." It says so right on the registration page.Learn high speed driving and car control skills through limited classroom and lead follow instruction from experienced instructors. Bring your street car or track car. No previous... (see full post)
The 3 or the 3R?And I just assumed that any 12 hour race would have multiple tire changes. I am always discovering how little I know about everything. (see full post)
blacksheep-1,Could you elaborate a little? Is this something with which you experimented and found that it makes no difference?I have a hazy memory of reading something on the internet where somebody tried with and without, but I cannot... (see full post)
Ah. I drive an S650, so I did not even think about the coolant overflow tank on an S550 being in the path of air coming through the radiator. (see full post)
Yokohama A052s were great at NCCAR. My car normally runs a full slick.. I’m new to the car and learning it so I don’t have a comparison. I noticed it was easier to get rotation while trailing than I’m accustomed to with my previous car (350R...

Perfect, have a look through my build then. Mine is on the limit for a road car. It has just that. Happy to answer any questions as to what was involved and any pitfalls. (see full post)
Looking at these notes from everyone I will say Hoosier R7s in 315/30-18 we get 14-18 good sessions before they lap time out. So 4-5 really good days. I have used sets up to 20 cycles with out being corded or fully worn. Michelin S9M scrubs get...
Safety first and foremost.
Personally i hate "stock" cars on track. They were never intended to be pushed that hard and you need to know what you are doing to deal with it.
You have done the first part and got a basic package that is known that...
A recent batch of R7's for a friend with a 800hp r7 and a Porsche Cayman GT4 had a strange tire failure on both cars.this was on the M3...And these on the GT4....This happend on the 2nd track day and both cars are about 1600kg. He...
I can see myself at most going once a month. I’m in the NE so winter is a thing. I only got like 8 months before I cover it up for the winter. But I wanna keep it street legal to bring to c&c, meets, cruises or autocross events which are much... (see full post)
