Haha, i actually read the instructions down to the point where it says to disconnect the battery if jump starting. Yeah they are sensitive little things. (see full post)
That steel is strong. After installing quite a few of these I've found that starting with a 5/16" pilot point bit helps. Once the.bit stops drilling, then I switch to 1/8" and then work my way up to 5/16. (see full post)
Exactly what I used on my 350R. Works Great...once you get the holes drilled through the armor plate.....steel ford puts in the pinch welds. (see full post)
Like Sal said!!! I had a similar issue. I killed the battery, put on a conventional charger and got it running. Then I noticed a "Swelled" battery case. I guess not all lithium batters burst into flames when abused.

That's the smallest plastic ATV battery box I could find and the battery is tiny so that box is stuffed with foam.
The frame I made from aluminum angle and the hold down is 1/8" stainless steel strap.
