Switched mine to DCTF and I've had nice results. It cleared up some crunchiness at low RPM for me, and seemed to clean up the gearbox all around.I will say this - moving to a McLeod RST & an MGW X-Spec has made this thing just an absolute blast... (see full post)

Spools a way of life offroad. Daily driving sucks but on track i’m sure it’s the answer as well. (see full post)

Actually he first figured it out early on in his 58 corvette but didn’t understand what was going on till later (see full post)
  • Well, I said, "equivalent drivers." I know a lot Corvette and Porsche guys who have faster cars than me. That doesn't mean they get around the track quicker. (see full post)

It was that team. The engines were all 5.0 liters, but the fresh head gives a little better top-end seal and that plays nice with a bottom end that has gotten nice and broken in. (see full post)

BTW, what did Mark find with the differential? With the Trans-Am, he settled on a spool. It's the right answer. The diffs in our cars need to be much tighter. Torsens do not get the job done. The only good thing about them in there's nothing to... (see full post)

The general guideline is not to touch them at all when hot, as trying to torque them down to the cold number can stretch the stud, deform the threads, or outright snap the stud due to them now being over-torqued when they return to their cold... (see full post)

That was the trick in FF2000 30 years after he found it. If you put a fresh head on a 500 mile engine, you'd make 1-2 *more* HP than you would when the whole thing was brand new. (see full post)

A totally fascinating thing (which there are tons of in this book) is these fact he discovered that a broken in bottom end with new heads produces approx 30 more hp. That makes total sense when he describes it and they dyno tested to confirm... (see full post)

I agree i’m sure it’s work. The car is from AZ and you probably seen it. So what car isn’t a lot of work? i got a brand new mustang and now im thinking about changing tons of stuff on it? It’s and endless cycle. Kinda like Donohue talks about in... (see full post)

Always right before i go out. Not when i come in so usually that’s at least an hour. Or two. Is there a hot and cold torque rating? I know the coated studs at op use less torque all around (see full post)

This car weighs almost what our cars weigh and has a lot of power, so this longevity review on the new Hoosier Track Attack Pro (not the R8, a 40 tw tire. This is a 200 tw tire and significantly cheaper) might be useful. It is 305R30/19 (see full post)

After they've had a good amount of time to cool though, right? I know it often goes without saying around these parts, but if a cold torque rating is applied to a hot stud after a lapping session the nut may feel looser than normal for different... (see full post)

All things being equal the leverage will be greater In this particular instance with carefully selected backspacing components problem is mitigated with good extended studs and spacers. The hubs on a s550/650 are pretty beefy as well. Yet wheels... (see full post)

I’ll test them out when i get them assuming OP’s spacers are good. Yeah if you have it set up right specifically engineered for your application all should be good. I’m not worried i’m going to do it. Plenty of people do it wrong in various... (see full post)
