  • I went to my first track day, a Track Night event at Palmer in MA, with the car totally stock and it was frankly kind of terrifying. It didn’t help that crazy tstorms were rolling through. Car was swimming around both literally and figuratively... (see full post)

  • I was just starting to get interested in track driving but the Mustang was always going to be a daily too and it got used as such. So any track mods had to be street friendly. (see full post)

  • it was my first Mustang and my first rwd car with a stick and real power. It replaced my old Saab Viggen, which I also loved. So the Mustang was a big change for me, very different type of car obviously. (see full post)

  • So after years and years of hanging out here and learning a ton, I’m finally doing a profile and build thread. Calling my car a “build” is a little optimistic, as I haven’t really done very much. And I don’t tend to take many pictures. But I’ll... (see full post)

In the interest of not jumping to any conclusions, does this only occur on one side? If so, is that shock absorber functioning properly? Any spring can reach coil bind with enough force. This being a stock style variable diameter and relatively... (see full post)

That’s quite an impressive time. Our cars aren’t all that different. I have very similar suspension mods. Sadly I purchased the automatic. It gets hot and sloppy.

Really, it's any McPherson strut car. It's the nature of the beast. It's also tire dependent, but you basically go more negative until you start to degrade braking. That can be -4.5* or higher on some cars. (see full post)
  • Rodpwnz
Working on getting the strut cutting tool as we speak - hopefully will be able to cut them out next week and get another alignment. Aiming for -3.2 degrees negative front camber. (see full post)

Good thing to cover here. Dave is running well over what I recommend for a front spring. He's got more engine weight than most, so that's part of it, but his nose-weight isn't crazy, since he has also done things like the tubular front subframe... (see full post)

I think I would go with more camber - I keep reading that S550s love -3.0° or more. Fix your clearance issue and get higher mid-corner speeds due to more front outside tire grip at the same time. 2 birds with 1 stone and all that. (see full post)

Sounds like we are missing some alignment (camber/toe) info and again what phase of the corner we are talking about here (Hi Kevin!) Without that info, I will say that S197s love trail braking. (see full post)

All good points but let's go back to Dave_W comment - where's it pushing - corner entry-mid corner-corner exit? (see full post)
