The title of this thread may be more ominus than it seems right now...Our world is slowly shrinking in land space that is growing ever more expensive.Race tracks take up A LOT of real estate that could be used for more expensive money making things for developers, not to mention increasing tax bases for the cities/towns they inhabit.Don't be surprised if more Race tracks succumb to pressures to sell in the future.Racers are a small part of the population to keep happy, sad, but true.........................

You guys say that but Kansas Speedway is located in the middle of a huge mall, commercial enterprise, so is Daytona. Most tracks in Europe are located near airports, nuke plants and other endeavors so there's no reason, other than political , to close some of these places.

I’ll take that bet. Closed course racing, yes. Modded street performance cars, not so much.

Shame to lose classic tracks though.
Sorry but, people playing with their cars on the streets is not “Racing”.

Well, that's OK. Those street guys are mostly posers anyway. Kinda like Corvette people. 'Vette people like to putt putt putt around the streets in bunches creating havoc with traffic, and then go for lunch. They call it "cruising". They never exceed the speed limit, now and then one of them might chirp their tires by accident, but they would never take their cars to a track and beat on them. They like a good show and shine, which also seems to be a big favorite with street mod people.
Weird.
