i attiribute this to all the f150 lease specials seem to include the 2.7 ecoboost. at this point i dont think the buying public cares whats in it anymore as long as its cheap

the 7.3 gas engine is going to be the midlevel engine in the Super Duty truck line. I dont think they have been putting the V10 in anything truck wise in awhile. Mainly just used for like RV's I think

I know the problem with the 5.0 is that folks see the 3.5 Turbo as a motor with more towing capacity. We have had the largest Ford Truck Store in the World for years and it has been that issue with a lot of folks who actually still love the 5.0. For us, though, the majority of folks wanting to tow go right to the Diesels and we sell an incredible amount of them. Woodhouse got it's name , starting well over 25 years ago, putting aftermarket Turbos on Diesels and selling them Nationwide. No need for this today, of course, but we do ship trucks all over this Country -- even have some in Hawaii and Alaska.

I know the 5.0 still has a strong calling in the Mustang niche, but Ford obviously will be going more and more towards Turbocharging if the current indications continue to bear fruit ( gotta believe they will ). Anticipate more Hybrid pickups in the very near future , especially since Ram has one and more are on the Designers/Engineers future plans!

Bill, A lot folks buy the Mustang GT 5.0 for it's sound (growl). How does a ECO boost compare to that?

Well with the Ford CEO wanting to halt car production in the US and concentrate on trucks and SUVs, we should've seen this coming. The Truck line will dicatate the engine line. I think it's crap since I know several people with Ford cars (not mustangs) such as Fiestas, and they've driven the fire out of them and are well satisfied, I think it's a bad move, but money talks..so we'll see, I think he's hosing it up, personally.

Mostly harmless.

You and me both.

I'd love to have a 5.0 EcoBoost with a couple of Hellions on there. But, last year I spent 10k refurbing my 99 Super Duty 7.3 Six Speed. New steering EVERYTHING including the steering wheel, ball joints, leaf springs, bearings, ball joints, shift knob, everything. Also did the rear axle which had started to machine a helical design on the carrier assembly from the pinion gear. Love that truck. I bought it new and it's got 300k on it now.

That 7.3 gas motor they're coming out with is interesting, if not really inspiring.

Thank goodness the Mustang is the best selling Sports Coupe in the World, as pretty hard to get rid of this car model?!

We saw FCA ( first ) discontinue many automobile models , and Chevy and Ford have continued the trend , primarily due to consumer demand. Hard to fault any of them as the buyer is the one driving this market , but I figure things will turn around when fuel prices go on the rise - as this cycle repeats itself again.
