Good evening all..I have 302R 017 in Connecticut. Any suggestions on documentation, parts info, maintenance requirements? Thanks in advance!

Also, any thoughts on this racingjunk listing for a 302R? Chassis#56? Everything I’ve read here says we only go to 23.

Congrats on the acquisition of 302R 017. Ironically enough I spoke with Kevin Maley this week to ask if I could have access to the car this weekend to take photos, measurements and make templates of some 302R specific parts I have not been able to find for my rebuild of 302R 015. That is when I learned that he sold that chassis. As you mentioned there were only about 2 dozen complete 302R's sold by Multimatic. They did also sell BIW 302R kits. BIW is in the serial number of those chassis. I'd be surprised if they sold over 50 BIW chassis but its possible. It's possible that the "#56" is a number assigned by Grand Am/IMSA or even just a bogus number trying to make it sound more legit. Minimal photos is usually a red flag. It would be interesting to see more detailed photos of the chassis.

Thanks. Kevin is an amazing guy. Send me a DM if I can take pictures of something that might be able to help you. Very excited about digging into this car and learning about their history.

Howdy everyone. So I have boss 302R 0014. It does not have the serial number on it, but when I purchased it, it had damage to the drivers side quarter panel and a grand am tech inspection sticker with a serial number. I contacted IMSA and they were able to sort through their records showing that the car was indeed boss 302R 0014 and it was raced by BTE sport. Further proof was that I had found the original grand am broadcast from Indianapolis showing the car went into the wall on the same side it had the quarter panel damage, as well as many photos that show the grand am inspection sticker on the cage, exactly where mine is. Plus when I found the car, it had the livery from BTE sport with exact matches in key areas such as location of stickers, the blue front end of the livery that extended slightly into the tip of the front fenders, etc.

my guess is that when the car went against the wall at Indianapolis, BTE sport bought a BIW and swapped everything over then abandoned the original chassis. I picked it up back in 2015 and spent 5 years putting it back to mostly factory spec using several contacts who helped me source the original fuel system, wheels, etc etc. now I’m finally enjoying the car racing it in NASA AI. Glad I found you guys lolEFEDD979-6180-40BF-A1B7-A535B2528B2E.jpegC179B42B-0448-406B-BAD6-83EDF30EF80B.jpeg71BCED20-529C-43C9-A760-BD08A16DDF11.jpeg1788D0DA-E534-449D-82E8-CB4AEE39D736.jpegF3333669-D790-4C29-B37E-00A47C3A6B61.jpeg

Sounds like you did all the due diligence required and glad to have you join in with the rest of us who own Boss 302S or Boss 302R Ponies. Always great to be able to do a little digging and find out the full story of our track beasts and though I only know a few items on mine that I found through a strange coincidence with a racing buddy on the West Coast , those finds often answer alot of questions and concerns.

By the way , in case I did not mention, great color combinations, ha!!

I just listed my BOSS302R on Racing Junk last week. Looking to downsize my hobbies and I just don't have the time for this toy. Perfect track day car with racing pedigree.
Amazing build and price. If I had the space I would certainly jump. Hopefully, it will be a quick sale and to someone who can enjoy the car as intended

Hey guys,
I recently purchased BOSS302S1433, a virgin garage queen with 9 miles. It spent a lot if time on a dealer showroom floor in WI, and for the past 3ish years in a private collection..
My plan is to get it on the track this year and knock the rust off of the driver as well..

Congrats! Obviously a different animal than the GT4, but still a capable track toy. I have #33 as well for 2013. Your 14 has two nice upgrades; Exedy clutch and 15in front brakes (versus 13). Enjoy!

That is Hays, Ks. ( I graduated from Ft. Hays University ) and I just hope Casey Zimmerman brings the beast to the Fast Ford and Mustang Roundup in September at MPH ( Motorsports Park Hastings ). There are usually 5-8 Boss 302S beasts show up so that will give him a real idea on how the beast stacks up.
