at 1600 miles on the odometer, I'm only getting 14.5 in mostly city, and driving very nicely. I was hoping the metallic sound in the back was some sort of friction, and if it was fixed, my mileage would go up. I also have the front suspension creak over speed bumps, so I guess the car won't be...
That's kinda funny as I was trying to figure out a way of contacting you through youtube (couldn't). My sound is pretty loud; I can't even hear my tires, only that metallic rubbing sound. Good to hear yours hasn't changed over the time you've owned the car. I've owned over 20 cars in my life...
thanks. That's what they're considering doing to mine. How did your shifting feel after it was "fixed"? I once had a transmission fixed because of syncros (an 87 Merkur xr4Ti) and it shook and basically was screwed up by the techs.
I have an almost new 2012 boss, and when the transmission is cold(ish) I can get a good grind into 5th and into 6th if I don't shift very carefully. I know there was an oil TSB, and I know they've updated the syncros in newer build dates (mine is Feb 2011) What has anyone's experience been with...
thanks for the information. What was the solution to fix it? (My shop foreman is a great guy, but he doesn't know much about this car) Did you have the 5th and 6th grind issue too? btw. the following video is exactly the sound my car makes.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzbqCwVxoLE
well, had the rear seats down to transport my bike, and I can hear a distinct rubbing (metallic) loud sound coming from the trunk area. The faster I go, the louder it is. Can hear it with power on, or coasting. Anyone else have this loud rubbing noise? I have an early build; 0015. On another...
Yeeehaaaa! All solved! I found a shop in my home city that carried the Gorilla style sockets and went and picked up one for $10 and it fits! Thanks a lot guys, now to see if they can fix my tpms issues and the 5th and 6th gear grind when the transmission is cold. Did anyone have their oil...
another good idea, but all 20 nuts are spline type. It looks like Gorilla sells 3 kinds of spline keys, whereas the other lock nuts I'm used to, had crazy patterns and was one per wheel. Hopefully I can find a spline key that will work for all 20... Have to wait til Monday to investigate though.
thanks. Had not thought a key for these lug nuts would be actually easy to find. Aren't they supposed to stop the rims from being stolen? (maybe thieves don't know how easy it is?) The last set of theft proof lug nuts i had on a car, had a crazy pattern on them that was supposed to be hard to...
Boss manual says 100ft lbs. Anyway, here is a pic of the lugnuts that I have on my car. I think they are the Gorilla type, but they have 3 types of 6 spline. Not sure how to figure out which size I have. Anyway, here's the shot
yes they do! I am trying to attach a pic of my rims and lock nuts for you to see. I'll contact American Muscle tomorrow and see if they can help. are all the lock nuts the same? how would they know I am not a bad guy, trying to steal someone's rims? thanks!
I bought a used (barely used) boss 302 and its at the dealer to have the tpms sensors replaced. Anyway, they say they can't get the rims off because they have a special nut on it, and they can't find anything in the car that would match the nuts (like lock nut key). I can't find anything about...

Does anyone have a Boss car cover and would like to sell it? If not, has anyone found a Ford dealer that sells them at a good discount? I really don't need it that bad, and I'm sure a cheaper one would work great, the but the "C" stripe on it is a bit fun to look at... Let me know!
