    SCCA Track Night at PBIR

A lot of cars out there for sure. Next event I do I'll have some track tires. I was having a hard time sticking with my stock Pirellis. But it was great to get my Boss out there.

Intermediate group red Boss.... Yes! You were in the solid grey S550?

Looking at 18" square set up. What offset works?

Just completed my first track day in the Boss. I had a blast, but my biggest limiting factor was my tires. I'm looking at possibly a 18" square set up with a 305/30... I found a buy on some HRE 18x10.5 +48 and was curious if these would work. There is a lot of info on this site, but I have yet...

Newbie on track, track key question

Part of the issues with my Pirelli tires imo was they had been sitting in my garage for the last three years. I put them on a month plus ahead and drove around with them. But they just never felt sticky. The car was always on the edge of oversteer with any throttle application in all but the...

Just an FYI I was running the stock wheels and Pzeros. They were terrible!

Newbie on track, track key question

I did my track day yesterday, it went well in that I came home in one piece with no issues. The tires were very slippery.... I had a tough time getting them to stick. Brakes worked out great, the trans only blocked me out a couple times in 5th which was better than I expected. Overall I could...

I think for this event I'm going to run the stock Pirelli's... If I get bit by the track bug I'll make a change for subsequent events. My Nittos are 20s mounted on Vossen wheels with a pretty extreme offset and strong concave... Not exactly track wheels. I think I'm better off with the stock wheels.

By tracking I mean the tires ability to stay in the direction you pointed and not be affected by ruts or bumps in the road.... The NT05s are definitely more susceptible to that then the stock Pirelli's especially once worn half or more IMO

Newbie on track, track key question

The NT05s feel a bit more grippy specially with the rears being 305 width. However they are VERY noisy and track a bit worse than the stock Pirellis. I think a lot of handling feel has to do with the fact my Nittos have a shorter side wall. I'm not sure I would get them again for street use. The...

Thank you for the advise and warning. And yes they are my originals... They have been in storage the last 3 years. I have had them on the car now for about 200 spirited miles, they feel pretty good. I've done a few 1g stops and a few 0.9g on ramps with them and seem ok. I know the track will be...

Anyone have a suggestion for tire pressures? I am running stock wheels and tires for this event.
