Agreed.
I have a Kenny Brown Cooler installed. Did have a FTB cooler first. It worked very well for about 2 years. Then the temps started creeping up . It was like the cooler had a problem or couldn’t keep up. Thinking the Kenny Brown cooler was a better build, I switched to it. Same...
Want to avoid trading one problem for another. Feel much better about having all new parts inside the pumpkin. Also hoping the shop doing the rebuild can save the old parts so I can inspect for wear and see if the actual problem can be identified.
Thanks for the info though on Midway and...
I’ve got a 2019 GT PP1 with the Torsen diff. Temps keep getting high on the track (275F-300F) the diff cooler isn’t helping. Sent the fluid off to Blackstone for analysis after a weekend event at Sebring. Results after 500 miles on-track showed significant viscosity breakdown and high levels...
I’ve been struggling with differential overheat issues on my “time attack” Mustang GT. I’ve wrapped the exhaust and have been running a diff cooler. Still at Sebring last month, diff temps climbed to just shy of 300F in the afternoon sessions. I was running royal purple 75w140. Fast forward...
I’m going to do some testing next weekend at Road Atlanta. Right now my top speed on the back straight is 138mph and a PB lap time of 1.36.86. Hoping the E85 can help bring that top speed up to 142-143mph. We will see. Also will monitor CHT. Main concern in mixing is to get a somewhat...
I do time attack events and track days. So ran all the 93 out of the car and filled with VP racing X85, loaded the new tune and car runs great. However, the VP racing 5 gallon can of X85 is around $60 ($12 per gallon). My local station has flex fuel that I tested. Shows around 70% ethanol...
I agree with these fluid change intervals. My 2019 GT PP1 (highly modded) is a dedicated HPDE and Time Attack car. I drive it hard. Run 1.36.86 at Road Atlanta and 2.26.8 at Sebring. I change engine oil and brake fluid after each track weekend. Transmission and Diff after 2x weekends...
I was just at a Chin Weekend at Sebring. Temps outside were around 85F. I was running the A/C while sitting on the grid just to be comfortable. Forgot to turn it off. Once on the track maybe 5 laps into the session, the engine started governing itself at around 5000 rpm. I was at WOT and...
I guess to add to the overall issue, although I run 305/30/19 squared, I don’t use spacers. So, my front wheels are different offset from the rear. So, in order to rotate tires from front to rear I have them remounted and balanced. So, in this situation to replace or move any tire from front...
I was at the Chin event at Road Atlanta Oct 21st and 22nd. Running a fairly new set of Cup2 tires (3rd track day). At the 3pm session, I lost air pressure in my back left tire coming down the front straight. I slowed down and by the top of the hill at turn 3, the tire was completely flat(0...
