Somehow I came across this photo from Mid-Ohio with NASA. Memorial Day weekend & photo credit goes to Downforce Media.

Reporting from Leeds, Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park !! Spent the past weekend tracking #369 dragoon at my new favorite track !! If you haven’t been here, put it on the bucket list for sure !! It’s the most exhilarating experience at a track since we started this hobby. Chin Motorsports puts on a great event as this was my first time with Chin and Barber. Track is awesome with elevation, tight turns and friendly kurbs. I don’t have any on track photos yet, but the paddock queen took some phone photos of the paddock. As one of the Barber staff explained to me is Mr. Barber said something to this effect “imagine Augusta National Golf Club, remove the golf course and build me a race track”. This place is just so unique and beautiful with the landscape, gardens, sculptures and hidden nuggets around the grounds. The weather was very warm with afternoon temps in the mid 90’s with 80% humidity but the mach1 handled the 25 minute sessions pretty well with no overheating !! Met some good track enthusiasts with whom I would like to cross paths with again.

Was at the Barber Motorsports Vintage Museum today and will be back on Tuesday as it takes at least two days to even cover the 5 floors of the most outstanding collection of motorcycles, Lotus cars and some interesting sculptures with impeccable grounds.

I can’t gush enough about the awesome Barber Motorsports Park race track and the Vintage Motorcycle Museum !! If you haven’t been here, please put it on your list of tracks to get to. Those who have been here know of what I speak. This photo is the haul truck parked at the Museum but it looks like we’re in a national park !!

Was at the MCACN show in Chicago last weekend. Too many cars to snap pics of but this Twister Special Super Cobra Jet 428 Mach1 caught my eye !!

Oh man I’d like to park that next to my Twister 500. What did it go for?

It was there as a preview. Suppose to go across at Kissimmee in January 2025 if I remember correctly. Mecum had about a dozen cars there for preview but the Mach1 was gorgeous of all for sure.

Yep, found it. I had a 2004 Comp Orange Mach 1 too.

This one is investment grade, but I don’t think the Mrs is in to it.

Who ever ordered it could really navigate the option boxes !! I didn’t see a Marti report but with the list of equipment that it has, someone knew what they were doing and it’s all OG !!

Updated 2025 track season !!
2 Barber dates this year, gotta do it, 70 now so I’m going for it !!

You will love it. I’m working a deal with NASA Mid South to give us a Vintage run group at their July event. I have almost 20 hard commitments. I have been trying to get this deal done for two seasons now. Hoping to make it happen this year. .

Twenty vintage big bore muscle cars coming down that front straight to take the green flag is going to be exhilarating…

I didn’t notice a July event for the Mid South ?? What track ??
NASA doing PittRace ( Great Lakes ) in July “maybe” doable for us though as we just do HPDE.

I don’t think NASA does any Barber events.
I know Chin does Barber 6 times a year though.
