I'm helping a friend run a mia...uh mustang, cough cough at Sebring in July and we're starting from scratch. It uses a stock fuel tank and has to be filled via 5 gallon jugs, is there some type of dry break available or do you just pour it in via the tubing?
Yeah, it's a dumb question probably, but im trying to figure it out on a Sunday night.

They spec the can you have to use. They're just pour cans with a fancy vent. They *are not* dump cans.

We use these…
So which are legal in champcar? We currently have to fill through the stock fuel port, but im pushing them towards a cell if they allow it,so it might be nice to have it adaptable

We just finished the Gingerman race.

We also use the Hunsaker 5gallon with the quick dump kit. From what I've seen in the paddock, most team are using those.
I have seen cars with dry break.

Here's the rule :
All refueling jugs shall be DOT and/or ChampCar approved, with a maximum indicated capacity of five (5) gallons. “Dry Break” systems are allowed. Funnels are not allowed to be used for the fueling process. All fueling must be done through a hose or dry break nozzle attached to the 5-gallon fuel jug. Overhead or elevated refueling rigs or electro-mechanical units to assist in lifting or supporting a fuel container are NOT allowed. All fuel jugs are to be manually supported. Only one fuel jug is permitted over the wall at a time.

Keep in mind that Champcar has a 5 minutes minimum pit stop if you refuel so even if you fuel up the car in 1 minute you still have to wait another 4 before going back on track.

Generally speaking fueling the car doesn’t take that long. However, you do want to get the car fueled as quickly as possible because you are limited to five crew over the wall while fueling (which includes the driver in the car) AND nothing else can be done to the car during fueling. Fueling starts as soon as the first fuel jug goes over the wall and/or the fuel cap is removed and doesn’t stop until the fuel cap is replaced.

Thank you that's exactly what I was looking for. Their web page is kind of wonky when it comes to trying to find specifics
