Greetings and thanks for the help from 4o6racing, Steve Espo, Double0fox, Terry Fair, and others whose posts have been invaluable to me as I install an NRG hub and QR adapter. My base GT is a 2009 model. All the posts I have found, though, are for 2012 and later cars. They show a 16-pin connector, usually red and black, with pins 1/9 and 2/10 for airbags (to receive resistors to defeat the warning light) and 8/5 (or 7?) for the horn. I bought the bits from NRG and the dual SPST momentaries to wire the horn and for a future comm button. NRG includes a pair of resistors and a straight pass-through for the horn wiring. I expected to pin the resistors to 1/9 and 2/10 and the horn wires to 8/5. Once I got the clock spring off, I didn't find the connector pictured in other posts. Instead, I have a 9-pin connector that plugged into the clock spring. The wire colors don't match (exactly) those for the airbag wires. I'm not comfortable just poking around in the connector to find out what's what, and I can't find a schematic or pinout diagram in the factory service manuals. (They may be there and I'm just too dense to find them.) Can someone help me map the pins on this connector so I can enable the horn? Turning off the airbag light would be great also, but I have plenty of electrical tape that can mitigate that annoyance. As always, thanks to this wonderful and helpful forum.

I had to rewire the steering wheel buttons on my car and I have some documentation on clocksprings. For the '05-'09 model, my documentation shows:

Pin 1: GY/OG - Driver Front Airbag #1 Feed
Pin 2: GY/WH - Driver Front Airbag #1 Return
Pin 3: OG/LB - Switch Illumination Power
Pin 4: TN/OG - Cruise Control Button Signal
Pin 5: BK - Cruise Control Button Return
Pin 6: BK - Horn, Switch Illumination Ground
Pin 7: DB - Horn Signal
Pin 8: YE/WH - Driver Front Airbag #2 Feed
Pin 9: RD/OG - Driver Front Airbag #2 Return

Hi wdrlaw & BackInBlack, on my ‘08 I’m about to try installing a Momo hub (non quick release) & Momo protipo wheel.

Were you able to keep a functional horn button, and turn off the airbag light?

This Momo hub kit from AM has this wiring (pic below) included, but I’ve spent hours researching if it’ll enable the horn, and turn off the airbag light…or will I need to fab addtl. wiring.

I also don’t know if this hub & wheel keeps the clockspring in place, with the airbag jumper/resistor plugged into it, or is it removed & the jumper/resistor plugs into that 9-pin, along with the horn wire.

Any insights wisdom would be greatly appreciated

Reading through the Q&A on the product page, and the installation manual, it looks to me like you're gonna be removing the airbag, the clockspring and everything else. If I had to guess, those wiring pigtails they provide might be for some kinda aftermarket airbag assembly? Just guessing since there's 4 wires, 2 of them black. Recommend you call the manufacturer and ask what those are for, but if you want to retain your horn I think you'll need to run the wires to a button outside of the steering wheel.

Thanks BackInBlack, yup it looks simple but I read through all those & all the reviews etc for any specifics, 100’s of forum pages, talked to A/M sales too, but just can’t determine where that fused jumper with the its resistor will plug into…into the clockspring..or into that c/s harness 9-pin plug or..?

I’m pretty certain the 2 red & black wires are for the 2 tabs on the back of the Momo horn. I just figured someone here has done this on their 05-09 & still kept a horn. I’m fine loosing cruise control & self cancelling signals, just don’t want to fry any circuits trying this.

I found this forum pic from an NRG q/r hub & wheel install & he inserted two fused resistors into the 1-2 & 8-9 slots to defeat the airbag light, & the white wire into the 7th slot for the horn.
