Whats up guys! excited to be part of the group. 1st track day in Nov with speed ventures at Chuckawala raceway in so cal. i want to make sure i have the car ready to at least gets some seat time to start learning. i have read the breakdown forum of first track days here so i understand the basic stuff and the safety. i will also have a instructor friend who races pikes peak with me to help out. my questions are more on the tech of the car. fell free to add any advice on the car that i didnt ask and you think it real imortant to do or look into before track days.
2016 Mustang gt pp1, 6 speed recaro package.
i have changed and topped off all the fluids in the car. i will get some decent new pads for the front and back before track day in Nov.
i have an LVA front splitter mounted to the chasis, maybe it will help maybe it wont. no wing at this time. ill be adding a front tow hook as its mandatory at most tracks anyways.
The car has eibach Sportline springs right now. the car sits way to low and i THINK that the springs do more harm than good. i plan to put some steeda / koni/ Fp non- adjustable shocks and struts with some min drop springs on because i think its maintenance time and might as well do it at the same time as springs. im not sure which brand is best but i think its necessary before the track day because these springs aren't great and who doesn't want to switch from stock struts and shocks.
im running Pzero perreli tires as they came on the car and the tread is good enough to eat up for the first track day.
I guess my questions are there any recommendations on shocks and struts (these are all about same price point) paired with what springs and after i install i will need an alignment. Whats some good numbers to start with on toe and camber to tell the shop. or they will just put them to zero which i dont think will be good. the car only has the camber bolts so id imagine i cant move camber and tow a crazy amount. also what psi you guys running on the track?
with this being a stock car and first track event im trying to see what i like and dont like and slowly change whats actually important as time goes on.
