Rotella seemed like the secret sauce oil years ago. Maybe it filled a void for specific applications when better choices were not available. Seems like there are better options that are available off the shelf. The Rotella thread seems to pop up on almost every Forum I have been on over the years, yet all the race Engineers I knew at Ford or Dodge all recommended other oils. I used to change my oil when racing W2W after two race weekends and with street cars doing Time Trials or HPDEs I would usually do the same since there was also some road miles on the motor. The word cheap started off as a key word of the OP's thread and my answer is ---" Changing oil often is a super cheap way to keep your motor running for a long time when tracking." Cheap insurance , use a good oil and meet the Manufactures specs and that will take alot of the guessing out of the equation, imho.
