S550 Clutch is scratchy after track day

2016 GT Perf Pack. I just drove it for the first time after an HPDE day two weeks ago, and the clutch feels a little funny.

It still seems to function properly but the motion is no longer butter smooth. I can feel it catching a bit near the top of the travel when a gear is engaging. There’s a little bit of friction that wasn’t there before. The problem does not seem to happen if I’m just sitting in neutral and pushing the clutch in and out.

That track day was a hot one. 90+ degrees. I was pushing the car pretty hard and the rear axle got the over temp warning. I didn’t notice any clutch issues that day though.

Any ideas?

Assuming stock clutch and setup.
Consensus appears to be that stock clutches don't like high rpm, clutch fluid which is also brake fluid get "cross" contaminated and affects the seals on the clutch cylinders. Slave cylinder doesn't play well with certain high temp brake fluid.
Your description is a little ambiguous, always difficult to describe something you are subtly feeling.

Assume you mean, and i being pedantic for a reason, when the clutch is engaging with the gearbox in gear. Or do you mean the gear selection is catching at the end of travel with foot on clutch.

The problem does not seem to happen if I’m just sitting in neutral and pushing the clutch in and out.

Which would give us a direction as it doesn't happen in neutral.
If you can elaborate further i'm sure others will have good information.

I drove mine after a clutch upgrade and was sure they had shortened the clutch pedal travel. Nope, just felt so different. So many factors involved.
Would however look into divorcing the clutch from the brake system if you intend thrashing it frequently.

Thank you. Yes stock clutch system. 13K miles.

The odd feeling occurs when the clutch is engaging the gearbox in gear. The clutch moves smoothly (without the friction) if I let it out while the shifter is in the neutral position.

I’ll read up on divorcing the clutch from the brake system.

Which clutch did you upgrade to, and do you recommend it?
