Derric's Day is always a lot of fun for a very good cause. One of the fun things of the day is you can buy a ride in a variety of high performance cars...think Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, etc....you have always wanted to do a lap or two on a race track in a Ferrari and here is your chance and all proceeds go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

This year we have added the pole position #22 NASCAR Winston Cup car from the 1992 Daytona 500. You can take a few laps as a passenger in this iconic race car. Check out this link for a sample of your ride.

You can spend the day on track in your car or just come for the rides and auction....register at www.hookedondriving.com. Plan now on joining us on Sept 6 at Thunderhill.

Some great auction items including a complete day at the track...car, gas, maintence, track fees, lunch...just show up. Ever wanted a ride in a Saleen...drop by Sept 6 and scratch that off your bucket list....The mother of all wine tours and a Alpina watch are also part of the auction....be there!!! www.hookedondriving.com

I'm so tempted because it isn't that far away and I could drive up on Thursday, drive Friday, drive back to Monterey on Saturday. But I don't want to overload the wife with car stuff.

If you can't make Derric's Day live, you can still bid on some very cool items....follow this link and place your bid.https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Derrics2013. Lots of stuff including a K&N air intake system....actually we have three of them for the auction...if you don't have one of these...bid now. On Line bidding ends noon this Wednesday.

Also, if you can get to Thunderhill on Friday the 6th, but can't drive your own car on track we will be doing rides in a Saleen S7, McLaren MP4 12C, and a spec Mustang race car. Don't miss this action packed day for a very good cause.

Prostate Cancer Foundation.

We had a great day at Thunderhill for the Derric's Day fundraiser for Prostate Cancer. Before I get to the fun stuff there were a couple of doctors there and they stressed that if your doctor doesn't allow you to get a PSA test to find a doctor that will. Get tested yearly!

This was my first year attending this event and I celebrated by spinning in the Cyclone. ;D No harm no foul as they say.

So this was a fundraiser and part of that was you could pay to ride in some really cool cars. I took a ride in the Ferrari 458 Italia and it's a sweet ride. It's amazing how fast and smooth it shifts under full power. One car I had never seen before was a Saleen S7. I think it could be one of the best looking super cars I've ever seen. Just a stunning car. My favorite car of the day was a 1963 B Production Corvette. It was in amazing condition and has a racing history from the period.

Videos from the days event. Both of these videos are from the same session where I'm ahead and then following a Porsche Turbo tracked prepped with Hoosier R6 tires and a GT3. At the end of my video my car got hot so I backed off and then towards the end of that lap I ran out of gas. ???

Nice video and shots of the day...Thank you BMO for your support. We raised almost $40,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.....and had a ton of fun in the process.
