A mustang destined to be ruined by me at the track and canyons.

My first weekend on slicks was at VIR and temps were in the high 30’s. Not something I would suggest for anyone. That’s when I noticed VIR has no gravel pits. Unfortunately others also learned the same expensive lesson. I got by with a few embarrassing off’s and video I just can’t seem to find any more. Lol.

Warmed up this AM, it is only -8 this morning! All of you folks in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi , Louisiana , Southern Texas, Georgia, etc. post your Mustangs in warm environs so at least those of us in this Winter Ice Box can at least warm our hearts, ha!

I moved the Mach 1 to my son's garage a few weeks back , and it is nice since unlike mine , his is heated.

Dang Bill. It was about 65* here today, so I opened the doors and windows to warm the house a little before lighting the fire.

I waited this morning to walk the dog until it got up to 6 degrees. She didn't want to wait, but 4 was just too cold. I am glad a warming trend is in my future.

3 degrees at my castle this am...........yesterday it was above 50!!!!!!!!!!!...........just running out to get the paper in the driveway was a COLD PITA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.........Santa will be wearing his long johns tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve just been lurking on the forum and randomly posting/ responding for the past almost 2 years. In early 2023 I had an unfortunate brake failure in the mountains and my car went off the side of a mountain road.
The car was not majorly damaged, it just simply went over a dirt turnout and stopped on some dirt. It was just a bumper, headlight and under panels that were damaged. However the bodyshop that took the car for repairs kept the car for over an entire year and in that time made little to no progress. They basically only made progress when I would go in person to check. In some ways made the car worse. Thankfully I was able to take the car back and made some repairs myself instead. The car is far from perfect. But I’m so happy to say the car is finally back on track after only driving my Naturally aspirated fiesta se on track since then.
It was my annual birthday event at Buttonwillow and I only managed a 2.06 in the car. I know the car should be sub 2 but the car has a laundry list of excuses:
A bent wheel
A tire leaking air
Bad alignment
4+ year old tires
A potentially seized rear brake caliper
And traction control turning back on by itself.
I’ll be slowly working on this list of problems to get the car back up to optimal conditions. Until then I’m so happy to have it back on track.

Enjoy some pictures from this Friday.

Also I have renamed this name of the car thread to better accommodate the car. Many of my Instagram friends thought I had gotten rid of the car, or it was totaled or some other reason why they had not seen it.

Come on Patrick. Vintage, bias ply, slicks may be interesting at these temps.
Hard no…I’d have to go out with ripples in the sidewalls just I get them to bite.

What a difference a couple years makes. Almost 60°F, cloudy, and rainy here today.
