Well that pretty much sucked, the 60 car had issues in qualifying and had to start from the rear, got hit, spun..the usual back of the pack problems. The 59 car got hot and spun while running about 7th by a Toileta, they got a drive through but we had to fix the damage on a pit stop after a mechanical black flag. So we finished about 500th and 334th.. I guess, I didn't even pay any attention.

IMSA needs to crack down on the driving standards, it's just ridiculous the amount of contact there is these days. In the old days if there was contact between cars both drivers were going to speak to the chief steward afterwards. It wasn't unusual to see people stood down for the duration of the event or even for events down the road. It seems now that contact is expected which I think is just nuts. In lieu of driving skills we will just bulldoze our way through the pack and get Dad to pay the bill for the damage afterwards.

Absolutely, remember a couple of years ago when Bob got speared by a BMW within 10 mi uses of the start, they get a drive through and finished 3rd, we were rebuilding the right front suspension for 4 laps? Same thing here, we got black flagged for the panel hanging off the rear, when the thing was bolted on and couldn't go anywhere, we were forced to try and tear it off putting us back in last, there was no yellow flag later on to bunch the field so we just drove around for an hour and 45 minutes.

I have to admit, there was a sh*t ton of aggressive “driving” out there for the race. It seemed like, bump 1 out of the way and make up 2 positions ? Or you could “blame” an impact on a mechanical glitch, like your brakes not working properly for 4 laps, punt a car into the wall and then decide to make a “obligatory” pit stop, put on a “show” of trying to “fix” something and return to the race ??
