You're idea of a Barra swap sounds interesting. Make sure you've got the length in the engine bay for a straight 6. Have you seen the RoadKill episode where they build a GM 4.2 as an American version of the Barra?

Yep, I watched that with great interest. As much as it was an interesting build, I'm a diehard Ford guy so....
Also, the Barra is a much better looking engine. If I'm going to put that much work into a project, it might as well look good when I pop the hood

As far as the length, there have been several done in Fox bodies, as well as some in S550's. I've only seen one S197 with one, and that only on video, but all indications are it can be made to fit
