- This was a classic Facebook Marketplace impulse buy. I was scrolling through one night and saw this with a price that was almost too good to be true.
The story that I got was that the car started off life being somebody in Florida's daily driver for a while where it racked up most of the miles. Some guy in South Carolina bought it and turned it into a drag car. The engine was hopped up and eventually blown up. Somebody in Michigan bought it and rebuilt it with a low-mile engine from a 2013. After driving it for a little he got tired of not having 5th gear and that the rear end was worn out; both were replaced. Somewhere around that time he got into some legal trouble and had to get rid of his fast toys. At the time of my purchase, the chassis had about 130k miles, the engine had 30k miles, the transmission had 1,500 miles, and the rear end had 500 miles - not a bad find for what I was looking for.
The goal was to make this car dominate CAM class at my local autocross regions while keeping it street-able. It has done great so far!
