I took 3 years of mechanical drafting in school back in Jersey and my teacher was an Englishman. That's how he spelled tyme and it's carried with me all these years.

Now you know the rest of the story...

And here is an example of the use of the word back in tyme...

"Why I come to you at this tyme, is to desire your honour unfainedly to delcare vnto me, whether anye daunger is ment towards my maistres this night or no that I and my poore fellowes maye take such part as shal please god to appoint."

I think it means some chariot racer is asking if he can shack up with somebody's daughter.

Heck , I taught 3rd Grade many, many years ago, my wife just retired from Teaching for 42 years , and most kids are not even taught how to write in cursive anymore. Bob , hold on to your printing as it won't be long before no knows how to print either, ha.

And TymeSlayer is derived from the desire to beat my previous tyme around a road course. Which, if you start out at ten minutes around a two mile track, is not so difficult when you accomplish it a second at a tyme.
