No updates on the Mustang. But it was my son’s first test day for karting! He had an amazing time! We’re not trying to be the next max verstappen or anything just trying to get him to learn and have fun at this point. So here is what we learned. Got there early and got set up everything was going great! Got tent up got kart unloaded great. Then we tried to start the kart and….nothing. Checked over fuel lines and everything seemed in order damn went to fill tank we were pretty low and low and behold the fuel line in the tank was laying on the bottom on whatever no big deal just put it back on but it was to swollen and wouldn’t stay on and I didn’t have a small enough zip tie to keep it on tried some .035 welding wire but it was to thick and wouldn’t work damn missed first session oh well. In a scramble and not having any resources I said f*** it and used the hose for my brake bleeder bottle this should work right… then my tent got all twisted from the wind damn… finally got him out on track for the second session and he did awsome was slow had a couple of spins but he was learning got a little quicker with every lap and enjoyed himself he was extremely happy. A friend showed up by this time who’s son also karts helped him unload and get ready for his session both kids could run I same group so that was nice for the third session the kids were out together Jenson was getting fast and having a great time had a couple drinks of spins and figured out the probably needs new tires I’m not sure on the age of these or how many sessions were on them but from the store we bought he said they should be good to practice on. Tire pressures stayed consist and bought of @blacksheep1 while I was trying to teach my son about tire pressures and how important they are. Anyways Third session tried to warm up kart and nothing sh*t… checked the fuel line in the tank and of course which I figured it was laying in the bottom damn thankfully my buddy had some spare line and we changed it out got on track with no issues just a little last minute thrashing. he did awsome was full throttle down the straight catching other kids and passing made some nice passes on some kids and had a nice little battle with our friends son! All in all a great weekend and my son couldn’t be happier and more excited to do more! This was a great day with my son and can’t wait to do more and since I haven’t worked in race cars or anything in 20years I’m not going to lie I kinda miss the last minute thrashing and prepping I have no idea why but it made me
Feel like I was 20 again thrashing to get the trans back in our Alfa Romeo gtv for the third time to make it to the Watkins glen 3hr enduro race lol it was great! Any ways me and my son had an amazing time and will definitely do more! Now we just need tires! And if it’s okay with @Ludachris I wouldn’t mind starting a thread for his kart if that’s okay.
