Just didn't like the way it felt, guess I'm used to leather wheels. I sent my stocker out to be redone by DCT Motorsports. They finished it yesterday and sent me the following pic:
From just the picture I'm very very happy with the way it turned out can't wait to get it back next week.
Nice. I don't like how the trim invades on the rim as can be seen in this pic, it would probably be a pita to mod the trim and make it look clean though the guys you used could probably extend the leather to fill the cut out section.
Though a smaller wheel would also be nice. Stupid airbags.
It comes apart very easy there is a DIY on the source somewhere. As for cost this wasn't cheap but it's something you touch every time you drive. Also just a warning the Grant wheel is a POS.
Looks great. My favorite steering wheel was the one in my '08 Bullitt (same as the '08 GT500). It was fully leather wrapped and just felt perfect in my hands. I miss it. :'(
Somebody needs to make a quick release compatible with all the electronics, the extra inch would make the seating position better while also allowing swapping on a smaller Sparco. Though you would lose the pit speed and launch control adjustment as well as the cruise control, and dunno that it would be possible to quick change an airbag. Someday when it is my dedicated track car.
It looks good but I'd be concerned about how much bigger it actually feels/is. It looks appreciably larger than the stock wheel. But nothing beats a nice leather steering wheel.
showed up today. Quality is top notch one of the best wheels I've ever felt has some good beef to it but feels perfect in my hands. I only wish Ford used a smaller diameter wheel.
