my first day out with the Bridgestone Potenza RE71RS went great - broke my PB at Hallett and then topped that by a few tenths. Very impressed with them so far! Thanks for the recommendation @Bill Pemberton!
I always thought the whine in my car was the rear end until the MT82 died. The whine disappeared with the Tremec. It i still quiet with the 4:10's and Tru Trac. (see full post)
The old standard that a 100 lbs of weight reduction is worth a second of time on the track is seldom remembered. I applaud your mods, weight off is such a simple way to gain time and speed.

Get signed up, it's going to be a lot of fun! I've been on iRacing for many years so I know the track layout very well. Hopefully that will help me get acclimated a little quicker than most. Hope to see you out there! (see full post)
The classroom instructor at the CMP driving school last October said Road Atlanta was "a big boy" track. Doing lead/follow as a novice makes me a little nervous. But I've been watching a lot of race footage on Youtube since they announced it...
Re: My latest projectI believe you're overestimating the impact of two 5/16" holes in the pinch weld to the overall strength of the outboard frame rail. Putting a couple holes in a connection that's spot welded together isn't a big deal...
