I had this issue with my 2017 GT350 and the hose that comes of the reservoir going to the clutch had been known to not seal properly. I saw a fix for it online and it was put a small hose clamp on the hose on the barb or a zip tie. I put a zip... (see full post)
Why wouldn't Ford do it, especially on "track pack" cars?
Is it a curb rash fear on a "stock car", probably driven on the street at least some?I don't think they did this type setup on even the GTD. (see full post)
No idea what happened (but that one tire looks to be dated 2023?) but you shouldn't have to worry about an R7 batch problem since the R8 is a thing now...er....trackattackpro or whatever they call it.
Skip ditching tires only to buy take-offs, just keep your eyes open for discounts and get a new set. Discounts are available often through TireRack and also places like Costco. You can even get RE71RZs through Costco , though you have to order... (see full post)
Inspect heavily, does the rubber appear like they sat outside in the sun for 7 years.
Any cracks, even minor starting? If you had bought them new and they were in a climate controlled (more or less) basement
for most of that time, then I'd say...
We have a perfect example of this concept with our own Dave Whitworth. He mounted some dinky 295/18s on his 12 inch wheels and was blowing folks away in CAMC. This was on a set of RE71RSs so this may be a better example for some over the PS4Ss in... (see full post)
I remember reading a funny story (not sure how accurate it was) that between the mid-1960s and 1970s, F1 teams found that using a slightly wider wheel than the tire manufacturer recommended was faster, as it supported the sidewall better. The...
Like others have said, check for signs of age cracks. Run them a few miles on local streets (not highway speeds) and check again for cracks, blisters, or signs of tread/belt delamination. Drive about 15 minutes on the highway and do another round...
I would have pointed out the obvious boost check valve between brakes booster and Intake Manifold (the little plastic thing) this have a tendency to fall but you said your brakes were fine. Usually when the pedal start dropping to the floor or is... (see full post)
Replace the clutch. My 2011 behaved exactly the same after bumping the rev limiter up to 7500. The clutch looked fine. A new clutch and slave cylinder fixed everything.
blacksheep-1,Could you elaborate a little? Is this something with which you experimented and found that it makes no difference?I have a hazy memory of reading something on the internet where somebody tried with and without, but I cannot...
Saw that test a while ago. But one, most of their testing is on lightweights ("tweeners", even), at least 1000 lighter than today's fat performance Stangs.
And even 2023ish McLaren 720S is almost 1000 lbs lighter than auto DH or 20+ GT500 CFTP... (see full post)
Take tire Temps with a grain of salt for production cars. Carroll wrote about these in his prep/ tune/ drive to win series of books, but you have to remember he was an open wheel guy, and they have very sophisticated and extremely limited ( 2... (see full post)
I track mine and it's all OEM drivetrain - really don't need more power in my experience. Set of coil overs will do more for you than more power. (see full post)
I do. Have done NJMP and Pocono so far. Hitting Watkins Glenn in July, hopefully.Ford is my tuner. Trans tuning is perfect, as far as I can tell.
Haven't needed more power. In fact sometimes hard to put down what it already has.Only things...
