So after years and years of hanging out here and learning a ton, I’m finally doing a profile and build thread. Calling my car a “build” is a little optimistic, as I haven’t really done very much. And I don’t tend to take many pictures. But I’ll... (see full post)
Sounds like we are missing some alignment (camber/toe) info and again what phase of the corner we are talking about here (Hi Kevin!)
Without that info, I will say that S197s love trail braking.
I found it easier to understand in terms of weight transfer. As we brake, we transfer the load on to the front tires increasing the grip. The term "Nascar turn" stuck in my head from some one here on TMO. To turn our big heavy cars we need to...
It goes both ways: Verstappen a lot of front end actually more front end than anyone on the Grid, Hamilton on the other hand prefer a rear end car (Reason he was struggling with ground effect cars and with the Ferrari car last season.) Both...
In the interest of not jumping to any conclusions, does this only occur on one side?
If so, is that shock absorber functioning properly?
Any spring can reach coil bind with enough force. This being a stock style variable diameter and relatively... (see full post)
Sent along some coil binding pics to BMR this morning. See attached. So far no communication from them.Would appreciate any and all comments or observations here. (see full post)
That’s quite an impressive time. Our cars aren’t all that different. I have very similar suspension mods. Sadly I purchased the automatic. It gets hot and sloppy.
Really, it's any McPherson strut car. It's the nature of the beast. It's also tire dependent, but you basically go more negative until you start to degrade braking. That can be -4.5* or higher on some cars.

Working on getting the strut cutting tool as we speak - hopefully will be able to cut them out next week and get another alignment. Aiming for -3.2 degrees negative front camber. (see full post)

definitely tight. but deflection shouldnt cause an issue since it'll be back on the right part of the rim by the time it rotates up there. I've run with a couple of mm clearance. It could become a problem with taller tires that flex more, tho...
Thank you! The 2mm clearance is with Apex 19x11 ET52 and Continental ECF 315/30/19. I first fit them with a 28mm spacer, and running -3.4 camber they seemed really close to the fender so I was worried they would rub under compression while...
Oops, lol! Ask and ye shall receive.Only other mods thus far are -T Springs (i believe, P/O installed)
Roush Axle Back

BMR PHBI threw on some new Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02's for...
Installed my new SVE front row hook!Install was much easier than I expected, this was the first time I’d had my front bumper off. Way easier than I anticipated, I’m used to Japanese cars where everything is held on with silly little clips! It...
I think I would go with more camber - I keep reading that S550s love -3.0° or more. Fix your clearance issue and get higher mid-corner speeds due to more front outside tire grip at the same time. 2 birds with 1 stone and all that.
