But, that's kind of the point. At the end of the day, we can look at compliance as a function of an overall car vertical stiffness. The distribution of that stiffness isn't set. We can be front stiff, rear stiff or equally stiff front and rear... (see full post)
This week is IMSA at WGI including the Mustang Challenge. My FR500S will be on display at the Challenge paddock. Ford agreed it was appropriate to have the father of the new Dark Horse with the new cars especially since I live nearby. I dropped...
To setup either the Auto Blip or Xingeneering systems it is basically trial and error using the knobs for the Auto Blip and the computer interface on the Xi unit to establish the delay, amount of throttle and duration of the throttle. You set the... (see full post)
Not crazy about the can in that Cortex pic. Drains downhill. This axle will vent. It'll work, you just gotta stay up on the checking/draining it. Here's my completely custom pieced together setup on my '12 GT. Now that I know this axle is... (see full post)
Well....let's throw some real crap into this fan..lolhttps://www.legendarycollectorcars.com/featured-vehicles/other-feature-cars/smokey-yunicks-hot-vapor-fiero-51-mpg-and-0-60-in-less-than-6-seconds-see-and-hear-it-run-in-our-exclusive-video/ (see full post)
Speeking of Street/Track spring rates I think there is a reason why so many people go with BMR Handling Springs (because the rates are just about perfect) 300/980 lbs springs. The other options I would consider is Eibach Pro-Kit Progressive... (see full post)
So a quick reply to some of your questions:I used an inexpensive 4 1/2" Angle grinder (Harbor Freight House brand), bought there 4.5" x 060 (1/16") cut off wheels. I clamped the spring horizontally to a work bench sending a 2 x 3 or 2 x 4... (see full post)
Nice driving. How do you adjust the timing and size of the blip with these aftermarket auto-blip devices? Is that what the knobs are for? Can the system automatically tell when you need a big versus small blip, depending on gear and rpm? (see full post)
Another note on this - I’m using the port circled in red on the watts link cover in lieu of the one on top. Cortex v1 cover didn’t have the top vent port, which was the location on the stock Boss cover that was tough to get low enough to not... (see full post)
Here’s a screenshot of the configuration. The order number is on there too, so Brendan may be able to replicate from their records as well.I won’t be around the car for a couple weeks, but will try and get a some reference pics in early July. (see full post)
Thanks guys for sharing the knowledge, you've short cut my next steps to sorting out my M1 HP. Was in the process of looking at linear rate springs both production offerings and aftermarket.Purpose for our car is exactly the same, make it a... (see full post)
I get the premise of timing the advance or retard for different power. But, I chose the 127500s for my new rebuild. I believe with the lift and duration numbers, Comp says to use limiter. I thought I read somewhere that the Ford Performance... (see full post)
Are they as good as the DarkHorse or DHR? No. But are they good and better than me twisting my right leg and ankle around while braking for Turn 7 at Sebring. Yes very much so. And if you watch the video you see me trick the system in Turn 10... (see full post)
The Autoblip is one of my favorite modifications on my S197.
I did think about getting the Xineering blip module and they are based a couple of miles away and could have installed it but I decided against it. The need for an android phone or... (see full post)
this echos my experience. To actually make the most power, you need to otpimize all of the pieces...have to get the right cam profile and the right cam timing dialed in with the tune....and that can mean adjusting the came timing a few times... (see full post)
..and it’s an invaluable skill if you’re driving a manual car/truck down an icy mountain pass & can’t break traction with a mismatched downshift. (see full post)
Fair points but are the aftermarket modules really as seamless and dialed in as the modern oem auto blip features? I don’t have any personal experience but how do the modules know when you want a big blip versus a small brush of the gas etc? I... (see full post)
