Every car I've worked in, you could download it after the fact, or the telemetry graphed it back on pit road, what are you trying to ac omplish? Perhaps I can help (see full post)
I added oil temp, low pressure and water temp gauges to my Mustang when I started tracking it. I knew before I bought what was there and what was not then planned accordingly. I added Auto Meter Elite series gauges so I could have accurate... (see full post)
I was driving with SCDA, Monday & Tuesday 7/13 - 7/14, the INT2, Intermediate Lvl2 group. I need to go and research the best way to add Actual Coolant and Oil Temp sensors and Gauge(s) to this car. Frankly it infuriates me for what I paid... (see full post)
Thanks for the advice and insight. I think I'm going to "smoke" the crankcase and see if the leak is at the rear of the oil pan, at that rear crank seal plate. If so, I'll remove and reseal it, and smoke her again. That's where I'll start... (see full post)
@cjatrains
what day and operator were you with? I was there July 1 and 2 with Chin. Intermediate group. Is that when you were there? If so we were on track together. I was driving my C7 Grand Sport blue #77. Traffic was intense but... (see full post)
I follow the Blacksheep method or just watch where the tire lays over . Often, for me, simply sight studying each run is a way to focus on if my tire temps are working. A weekend may start with markings at a track and if things are working I... (see full post)
Thank you! I am not building my car for any particular racing class. Just HPDEs and some occasional street driving. I am thinking of starting to save for some more power. I went suspension first and don't regret it one but but with stock power... (see full post)
I don't know if anyone has made the A10 transmission work well for track duty. It's going to take a fair amount of coolers and venting to get things under control. (see full post)
I use this paint pen from Amazon. It has never come off, but maybe I am not fast enough!https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GPI47K?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_6&th=1I rotate tires LF to RR and RF to LR. After a track day, I mark the... (see full post)
Hello
Really like your build so far.
What class are you racing your mustang cobra?
Thinking of building a 351w for my 95 cobra but not sure of engine will be legal with scca rules.
Thanks (see full post)
You have the better tremec transmission but in may case I went through some five MT82 trannies at the track. My solution was biting the Bullitt and getting a Calimer 3 box with billit gears. They have one for your Mach1 as well... (see full post)
PWR is as good as it gets. Anyone looking for things other than this for serious track use should not only compare the physical size of the radiator but also the fin/tube density of PWR compared to whatever you are looking at. On the S197 the... (see full post)
Do not consider an R10 for the front, not enough heat resistance there , though they are fine for the rear. I suggest folks never start with anything less than an R12 up front and frankly depending on the courses run a bump up to an R16 is often... (see full post)
Just an observation...........We seem to be having a very busy and changeable summer so far this year. It started with cooler than average temps in late May/early June, followed by a record breaking heat wave for the 4th of July. and this week... (see full post)
That's impressive. Once the ambient temperature reaches around 22°C (72°F), I can get my Dark Horse up to 140°C (284°F) oil temperature pretty quickly. That said, those are still the calculated values from the factory system. I really need to... (see full post)
