If you use a kit to adapt race springs to the rear control arms (there are several), then you can run whatever you wish. I could stick a 4000-pounder on the rear if I wanted. The divorced spring in general is a bad idea, if only for the rear... (see full post)
7A095B is that aluminum looking long box to the right of the photo. Ignore the red circle, which is the tranny fluid dip stick stuck right by the catalytic converter because Ford wants you to burn your hand. (see full post)
Sorry, this is an S650 thing. see the 7A095B item in the diagram below. It hangs out just under the front area of the transmission. I did not realize it was not on the S550.So I wonder if an S650 owner can something like you have done and... (see full post)
One thing I have not noticed is what Class you want to run in since often adding a ton of mods can put one in a group of cars with little chance of doing well. This is a key to determine what mods you may want to add and often it can mean some... (see full post)
Really dends on goals I But overall start with chosing your fronts and then decide on rears I think 1200 is the highest you can buy in OEM location and if you go to 650 lbs springs this should be in the right ball park.So Overall:500/800 lbs... (see full post)
Thanks for sharing - this is very helpful when considering a 6 inch spring. I called many of the reputable spring providers and none have 6.5 inch options that would fit the AJ kit, and short of ordering 200+, will not consider a custom spring... (see full post)
The mishi cooler actually did help a bit, but not nearly enough. It probably bought me an extra 5 minutes(lap or two) at intermediate pace/level driver? I only bought it because it was the most OEM style option with metal cooler lines that are... (see full post)
I found using the Steeda fabricated mount with their adj upper helped with the clunking. It fit the arm tighter than the stock stamped piece. (see full post)
I took the advice from DaveW, Mike and Rob and ditched the Steeda unit and went back to the stock UCA. I also installed 10 sf of a butyl sound deadener in the trunk under the seat. Once warm, the noise was reduced by about 75%. A definite... (see full post)
I swapped a Magnum XL into my 2011 GT a few years ago. I have the close ratio road race version with the 2.66 first gear. Gears 1-4 in the Tremec are very close to the 2-5 in the MT82. I swapped the 3.55 rear gears for a set of 4.10's after a... (see full post)
Your very next mod probably should have been one of your first one and that is a set of wider ( square wheels ) and a set of the better 200 TWR tires. Tires alone are the single best mod and are quite often towards the last things done. When... (see full post)
Have you considered a GT350 TR3160? There are some people on this forum who have installed them with their Coyotes. As someone who owned 2 different MT82 cars (Bosses) and now has a TR3160 GT350R, there is simply no comparison in terms of feel... (see full post)
Clutch is ok. MT-82 is toast, something internal has the shifter locked up. Haven't cracked it open yet, but presuming we destroyed #3 synchro. Hoping to get it on a bench this week and open it to see what went wrong. Appreciate your inputs... (see full post)
I missed this the first time through his first post, so if anybody else is reading the other thread he linked, here is how to get the OEM thermostat out and replaced with a bypass. He put this in his post, but it is easy to miss (it is a large post). (see full post)
