The way the weather has been the Meteorological end of Summer may continue right up to the Astrological end of Summer. Seems like the heat is on the rampage and not ready to end soon. (see full post)
Sharing with all of you this great deal. I'm so proud to announce SPEEDITALIARACING is now an official dealer for DRIVEN OIL.15% DISCOUNT. I know how expensive this hobby can be!Driven oil was originally developed by Lake Speed Jr., the Motor...
Today.s Cryptoquote.................."How softly summer shuts, without the creaking of a door."__________Emily Dickinson___________This being the last day of August and with Labor Day coming this weekend, I think Summer's door is starting to... (see full post)
I forget where I read this, but someone recommended a Ball Joint Separator for pressing studs, so I tried it when I installed the ARPs on my Bullitt. This was fairly easy and they pressed in/out by hand. I'd recommend the Lisle stud... (see full post)
It will be really interesting to see how this all goes once you get the final tweaks on the tuning. What an adventure!I asked earlier, but is E85 not a thing in Australia? (see full post)
You probably already know this, but Steeda sells engine mounts for the S550 that lower the engine height. They used them on their own "Silver Bullet" naturally aspirated drag car with that intake manifold to get it to clear the hood.You... (see full post)
Probably a dumb question but what do yall run for wet tires ? One of the tracks I drive at feels like “dry” is still a heavy dew on the track (see full post)
So picked up the car Friday afternoon. Of course it decided to rain and be cold as. Love driving a track oriented car in the wet. Cold everything and no traction. And full open exhaust past a large police station.
The boys did me a little favour... (see full post)
Problem solved. Got the catch can in the LS done. I’m sure you guys can piece together what you’re looking at. AN hose runs to the can, vent tube runs back out of the truck so there’s no fumes or smell in the car! Yes…I royally f****d up the hole... (see full post)
No, actually, old to old. I know that sounds backwards, but the 4S is much better in the rain when old. And this is interstate. I have never driven on a track in the rain. Maybe I should not have posted anything. (see full post)
Engine in the bay temporarily to mock up cooling and oil lines, make sure I have everything I need. I’ll need a different strut brace, the Steeda won’t clear the intake even with the engine lowered 3/4”. (see full post)
I pulled my axles and pressed new studs in when I was changing the gear lube since I was already in there. No one time parts or specialty tools needed. You may want to replace the axle seals and bearings while you are there as a precaution. (see full post)
You don't need an impact, you can do it with a normal ratchet and maybe some help with a cheater pipe or breaker bar. No more stress than you'd get with a press, you're just going the other direction. Getting them off, that's another story but... (see full post)
I’ve done that before. Didn’t like it. Seems like a lot of stress on my pretty brand new studs. All that hammering. Doesn’t that stretch or deform the the stud and the new threads? Too violent with an impact. Didn’t like it. Plus banging on... (see full post)
Yeah, I know it's nuts, but he isn't a youngster anymore, he is in his 40s, so nose and ear hairs are not far behind! Wish him the best and hopefully he is off playing with his Mustang at a track or on an autocross site to help celebrate.Have...
There was nothing scientific about what I did, and I'm not even recording the numbers very well. Oil may have been more like 10, but I was bumping up towards the 280F point before. Different days, although similar temperatures, and with the... (see full post)
