I finally have the car back. New alternator, a refurbished pcm, and engine harness all went in. At the same time, I had the valve cover gaskets replaced, along with new timing bits (tensioners, chain, cam sprockets). I didn't get a chance to... (see full post)
Interesting that they show the forged Apex wheel fitting. They did say it was an 18x12, so it would be interesting if the 18x11 fit as well. When I was at Road Atlanta for the MCA 50th anniversary, @steveespo was in the paddock next to me and... (see full post)
Some people tell me don’t change unless I go to 750+ horsepower.
Others have told me that their gen 3 Coyote gears let go, and destroyed their engine, even though they were stock.
I’ve also been told that at some point, Ford upgraded the quality...
Were you having temp issues with the gearbox or did you do it as preventative work? Were you able to see a difference in temp with the scoop in place?I'm not sure if what we see on the box are cooling fins or stiffening ribs? They're a little... (see full post)
Yeah, I'm not sure what calipers are being used these days, the 4 pot Brembos were fine for PWC and Grand Am, then Ford got all artsy fartsy with things. When they created the GTD series, everyone told them to run race brakes and 18inch wheels... (see full post)
I know nothing. I just saw this video from Vorshlag installing different 18" wheels on a Dark Horse in an attempt to clear those massive brakes. (see full post)
Sorry for the delay in responding. Been working 80 hour weeks which doesn't leave much time for anything.
1. Yes. still running the 325's. Yes, they still rub under certain conditions at VIR. Coming down the hill from 10 to 11 under... (see full post)
DaveW always amazes me since he spends the entire event, changing and mounting tires, working his on site Solo Performance Racer's Store, and finds barely a minute to walk the courses. Doing all that during Nationals makes for insane days and yet... (see full post)
Thanks Dave_W, I posted a different picture, but pretty cool that going to SCCA.com Ryan's car pops up as the vehicle picture used for the Nationals! That is from his runs whereas the picture I took was earlier in the week when he was running on... (see full post)
Good for you! I believe choosing stock or lowered only changes how many shims he sends you. I think I have the stock ride height option due to how many shims in my kit.I have not yet had the 400lb front springs nor AJ hartman kit installed - I... (see full post)
That is odd, clamping force and therefore the pressure plate springs are similar. I wonder if there something else in the system that is cause and the return spring is masking it, very odd. (see full post)
I'm actually not, once the cords take a set after a couple of heat cycles, I like to leave them rotating the same way. No mfg that I know of recommends running them counter rotation. I've seen where the rubber is bonded, start to create a gap... (see full post)
Great idea as we did a TMO shot years back at the Mustang Roundup ( racemph.com ) as 24 of the Trackrats there were TMO members. We could all gather over at the SPS Trailer since everyone knows where Big DaveW is as he and the Ver Mulms are... (see full post)
Its quarter to 10 in the morning in Melbourne, i'm at work and i've just seen those steaks, my mouth just flooded in anticipation. Now to explain to it that it isn't for us. Bugger.
Why did i look at the cooking post. You guys are killing it with... (see full post)
It was great meeting you bill! had a blast at my first Solo Nat's! and I Agree with @RinerAuto we should do TMO group photos when there are some of us there! (see full post)
