GT350 Oil Cooler Tube Assembly Recall

Gents,

I have been off the air for too long stemming from returning from overseas and assuming 7 months of backlogged DoD acquisitions "stuff" in the office. Long story short I received my R which was waiting for me since April a few weeks ago and put a little over 800 miles on it to break the engine in before heading to VIR in a few weeks with the SCMC gang for the 1st time. She is at the shop for an MGW shifter install and requested pics/inspection of these particular parts due to this recall being posted the day I dropped it off.

Thought this would help and assist the cause. And it is GREAT to be back and in my R! Comments.

Pics indicates "so far, so good" hopefully they'll hold up for us.

See you at FTF!

BTW, where do acquisitions folks deploy too?

You know, if we all just switch to 5w-20 until the parts come in, the lower oil pressure will keep the hoses from coming apart ;-)

It sounds like a similar problem to what certain Lotus cars had a few years back.

I wish Ford would provide more clarity on what is being fixed and when.

GT350 Recall

All,
I just heard of a 2015/2016 GT350 recall involving a poor Oil Cooler Hose crimp that could allow the hose to separate and cause oil starvation. It sounded like the recall covers GT350s built up through April 2016. Contact Ford with your VIN to determine if your car is affected. They are advising limited usage before the recall is implemented. That will likely take a few months.

So I went to look at the two 350s I'm looking at today. Well the stealer can't sale them due to the cooler tube recall. I can pay for the car but If I did pay, I wouldn't be able to drive it home. WTF that's BS. Although I can drive my Boss everywhere and can't get that recall fixed. Good job Ford Performance...

Where are you seeing that? The recall or press release does *not* say anything about limited usage. Stop-sales are a legal requirement regardless of the severity of the problem.
