Replacing shocks and struts for mostly street use

Hey there fine people!

It’s about time for me to swap out the dampers on my 2014 GT. The car had/has Koni STRT’s on it from when I purchased it, which means they’ve got roughly 50k miles on them now and theyre starting to feel less than great.

I’m wondering what everyone might recommend for a car that sees 99% street miles with a couple HPDE’s a year. I’m pretty disinterested in adjustable dampers as I just don’t feel I would use their ability.

The car has FRPP P Springs and MM Camber plates.

Any interest in returning to stock? You may be able to find a set someone has siting on a shelf.

I never drove it on stock dampers so I wouldn’t know how it is. I bought the car used and it had these Koni’s on it.

How is it with P Springs? Is it overly soft?

Even if no one has stocks laying around I could get OE stuff at a discount from the dealer by me cause I used to work for them.
 
Actually, scratch that. The camber plates I have are for 05-10 style struts because the konis are 05-10 style so I’d have to get new plates to go back to stock
 
You might look into a set of Bilstein B6 Performance shocks and struts. I had a set and I liked them on my 2011. They'll fit the 2010 camber plates you have, they ride well and handle well.

^That's what I'd use if choosing a non-adjustable setup. Street only or dual purpose.

If you only occasionally track and still mostly DD, the adjustability can be well worth it. Especially if street conditions range from fair down to poor or there's a lot of expansion-jointed concrete. Or if there's a passenger who's far more sensitive to ride quality issues than you are yourself.

It takes all of about 5 minutes to adjust all four Koni yellows, counting the time it takes to run around the car to get to each corner. Once you've found your settings, you'll adjust up for the track and back down for the street. It's not something you're going to be continually tinkering with.
